The Doors by Analogue Productions M-CH SACD's

Analogue Productions and Quality Record Pressings are proud to announce four of the titles, The Doors, Strange Days, Waiting For The Sun, and L.A. Woman, are available on Multichannel SACD! All were cut from the original analog masters by Doug Sax, with the exception of The Doors, which was made from the best tape copy. A truly authentic reissue project, the masters were recorded on tube equipment, and the tape machine used for the transfer of these releases is a tube machine, as is the cutting system.
Features:
Multi-Channel & Stereo SACD
This Hybrid SACD is playable on ALL CD Players!
Mastered by Doug Sax using all-tube system
Overseen by Bruce Botnick, The Doors producer/engineer

This is currently available as a pre-order at Elusive Disc.com
I currently have the DVD-A Doors box set but am looking forward to having these titles on M-CH SACD
Hopefully these will be worth the wait. Anybody else interested in these or have any additional news?

No additional news, but I'm definitely interested. Was there a release date that I didn't see?

I have the DVD-A box set as well. Don't think I'll be buying these Doors discs for the third time unless there's a clear improvement that's generally acknowledged. Will wait to read about your experience.

I could not be happier with the mixing and mastering work done for the DVD-Audio discs.

Yes, the remasters of the Doors on DVD-A are some of the best sounding recordings done in the mid to late 60's that I've heard. And, I much prefer DVD-A because I can rip the hi-rez tracks and not have to use a dedicated disc player for music.

I own The Doors DVD-A boxset as well and I'm happy with it. All of these reissues get expensive after a while. I may just sample one, maybe Strange Days or the first one....

is this a different mix or master than the DVD-a boxers? I assume just a different master done on the tube gear?

I'll probably grab one or two as well and compare as well.

I personally haven't heard anything as to whether this is a different mix or master than the DVD-A box set. Hopefully it will sound as good as the DVD-A box set, or possible even better??
It would be nice if there were some more details regarding the mixing and mastering issue, and a projected release date as well.

It sounds like all the work is being done in the analog domain and then moved to bits for SACD if what they say is true in the first post. The results will most likely sound more like the original recordings (all analog in the '60s) than the digitally processed remasters already done. I may pick up "The Doors", since it was earliest released recordings and a copy of the original was used, and compare.

pre ordered strange days, looking forward too a side by side with the DVD-a. Received the latest Acoustic Sounds magazine and these do seem to be new masters, and maybe even multi channel mixes. However it doesn't say so definitively. Any new info please post!

The Japanese release appears to have extra tracks.

Although it appears the DVD-A Perception box set is now OOP, I paid just a little more for the entire box set as this 1 SACD being sold by cdjapan or Acoustic Sounds.

If these are new mixes and/or masters, it will take a significant improvement for me to bite, although I've been known to buy multiple reissues to satisfy my surround addiction.

The cdjapan site shows a release date of 9/28, and Amazon lists this as available. No has ordered one yet to compare with the DVD-A?

I have "The Doors" (Expanded) [40th Anniversary Mixes] from cdjapan and the DVD-A Perception box set, but have not played the SACD yet.

Will be able to make a comparison when I get back home for Christmas vacation in the next couple of weeks.

Still will like to see how this new Analogue Productions SACD compares to the cdjapan version and the Perception box set.

I also have heard no news or updates in regards to the release date.
Sent an e-mail to Analogue Productions and they have not responded as of yet.
Personally I hate it when they hype something and don't provide any projected release date.
For now all I can do is wait it out like everybody else.

I'm also waiting for the release, I'm hoping soon.
