What does it matter, considering your not a fan of the Elite in any form. Same is to be said of your opinion of Best Buy.

That being said, CT and NY sales tax are two completely different animals.

Your kidding right......
That is plain wrong. That receipt does not guarantee anyone a purchase price of $5099 for the 70" elite. You know I have it and it did not help me. That's a great way to get terrible feedback on ebay.
Well likely its against eBay's tos. Outside of that its not likely to help anyone.
wait, you're selling your receipt on Ebay???

A scanned digital copy of it to be accurate smile.gif

Well that's creative.

And Yenal, just because it didn't work for you doesn't mean it won't work for someone else. I don't know why you're so sour about this. I negotiated my ass off and I tried to help you.

I did not say it won't work for someone else. It's just so wrong that you're trying to make money out of this. Of course it's up to you...

I see this going no where. The TOS is for ebay. I am not sure they would consider your receipt an acceptable item to sell.

The 70 can be had for very close to what you paid simply by picking up a phone and calling a preferred vendor here...

but hey a fool and his money are soon parted..... Good luck
post #252 of 566
as long as it doesn't violate any rules on Ebay then go for it...it's only worth as much as someone is willing to pay for it...as long as you clearly state in your ad that the price match may not work for everyone then it's all good and it's up to the buyer to do the research before buying
post #253 of 566

thank god there's free shipping...
I got a factory refurb 70" for about $4700. Free ship.. No taxes. I paid extra for a 5 year warranty.

It works perfectly.

Or where/what do you suggest purchasing this set from? Im located in southern cali
Im coming from a lglm9600 to a vt50, then was possibly debating the es8000, but due to my lack of satisfaction in almost every Tv ive taken home and seen so far, I dont even think im going to give the es8000 a try, I have sharp vision and sensitive eyes. Which may be why i found the vt50 to have slightly too much flicker in the image possibly from the image being static, as well as some ghosting which may have been from the sets slight potential degree of banding. Regardless the vt50 did no live up to its rep or my expectations and already began to acquire some minimal amount of IR even after a proper break in.
So here i am in the avsforums trying to find a solution to this non ending nightmare, is the elite the answer?
How are you guys liking your elites?
Also wingnutt why are you selling your set? I noticed on another thread not that long ago that you just purchased it?

What? I'm not selling it. I just got it.

my bad wingnutt, I miss read some where, any how, how are you liking it?

I will keep you posted on my progress, I will try to find a BB price matchable source.

If im unlucky maybe they might have a decent deal on them on Black Friday, but im not trying to wait haha, even though its around the corner, ive been dealing with this TV fiasco for going on 4 months now, apparently though after digging around in avsforums, Im not the only person whose ran into problems with sets via attempting to purchase a TV worthy of a home entertainment room this year.

Also maybe if we both purchase them together we can get them to drop them significantly?

Euphoria 619

Yep, count me in. I have asked my local AV guy to give me a quote. We can see if we all go in together if we can get a substantial discount. I am ready to buy one for cash. I'll be in SD next month and if need be I can pick it up instead of having it shipped to CO.

Just spoke with my AV again and he is going to give me the absolute best qoute he can. I told him you were interested too, sohe will quote the price for one and for two. I pm'ed you so we can get in touch. See what he comes up with. Anyone else? Please pm me. Each transaction will stand on its own directly with my AV guy I don't want to be in the middle of it.

who's AV?...retail store?...is there a group discount the more you buy?...how much is a 60" Elite going for from him?

Don't bother buying a new GT or Elite unless you are going to feed it HD signals.
If that's not an option, be prepared to also have to buy a video processor to clean up the picture. Most modern TVs don't do a very good job with poor content.

Hey Jim, I have the same issue for some of the content for my kids videos. Is an AVR (Yamaha RX-V673) considered a video processor as well or is it a separate unit from an AVR? Sometimes the content just comes as SD so it would be nice to at least make it as good as it can be. Thx in advance.

My local AV is just guy with a store in town. He gets his product from the wholesaler and all I know is that he is going to get me a price, so i have no ida where he is going to come in at. If in the ballpark, then I will let you know. Then I will gather up all of your interests here andlet him re-quote it. See where it falls. Could come out good for everybody, but I have no idea.Have to try it.

What I do now see though is a lot of people here interested in getting a super deal, but some not pulling the trigger, witness the BB deal from John. Other than the outlier at $5099 the $5900 is still one of the best prices I have seen.
I like to shop but I am ready to buy for real, the cash is sitting here on my desk. (yes, actually it is in an envelope in the safe)
Someone from BB, my local AV guy or other come and get it........ You gotta earn it though.
