Looks better than I could ever imagine coming from Universal. Maybe some DNR but they didn't EE it up to compensate. The review score seems low compared to what they gave BTTF and JP.

Yeah, early word is not bad. DVDTalk has their reviews up for the first two and they're happily surprised Universal didn't rape these. Whew!!

It seems to depend on the scene. Some look okay, others not so much. I guess it could have been worse. Waiting for a nice price drop on these.

I compared AP2 with my D-Theater tape and the BD is significantly sharper with basically the same amount of EE on my FP setup.

Woh! What the hell is going on with the color timing in AP2??? I popped it in last night to check it out and it looks ridiculously warm and even a bit dark. I do not recall the DVD looking this off but it's been a long while since I've watched it.

I'm going to post shots of the UK set later. I am actually impressed with the picture. I wonder if there is a PQ difference between the US and UK sets.. There is far less DNR than I thought there would be and it looks very good for a Universal title of this age.

Nope. Unrated versions ONLY for all three films. The 3 1/2 hour doc on the first movie is also missing. Dissapointing. Other features may also be missing. Not sure.

I haven't seen the Blu-ray yet but AP2 looked exactly as you describe on DVHS, and seeing as Universal haven't even thought about doing a new transfer I'm certain that the Blu-ray will be very similar (give or take some extra DNR).
