That sounds reasonable. Emotiva is a direct to consumer company that has been around a while. They openly publish their specs and people are free to assess the equipment anyway they like. I have not read anywhere that Emotiva does not honor their return policy -- so buy it, try it, and if it isn't what a consumer wants/likes/thought it was going to be -- send it back.
I cannot think of a more meaningful way to review something. Maybe it is less elegant than a glowing commendation from Absolute Sound. I admit, it is nice to feel affirmation by reading positive reviews of something I own -- but no review will make me enjoy something I do not inherently like, or hate something that is clearly of value to me.
Pleasing performance tied to a crazy good price point -- that's better that a thousand pages of prestigious reviews.
