Specially if you are using a third party wall mounts, you want as much of the screws body into the TV as possible WITHOUT poking the back of the TV! You don't want to use third party's screws in conjunction with spacers that will hang onto the TV by just a few threads! U can see how this can be bad. Also, lots/wide spacers not ideal. It's physics, the farther the bracket is away from the TV, the more force on the screws. So if you have to, get new perfect-sized screws from the hardware store.
