Sharp 70" Deals - Page 8

OK, I'm in on one of these but don't want to pay sales tax here in Ohio, so I need an amazon type deal. Price match?
Noticed at my local Sams club the 70" 733u was 2597 or so and the 633u was down to 1997 or so. Too bad the 70" screen is just a bit too big for the room.

Purchased from Sears for $1999.99 and used the 10% off coupon brining it down to $1799.99 - called today for the price match and they credited my card an additional $100.11 so my out the door price was $1699.88.

If you do the math they should have taken the sales price of $1899 and taken 10% off (coupon) which would have taken the price down to $1709.99

I don't mind taking the extra $10 - after all, when I dropped by my other local store (not the one I picked it up from) the sales person could not find it in the system (because I ordered it online and had delivered to another store) so he asked me if I was there to pick up the TV - they had the 632 in a box right next to the register I could have walked out with it but I'm too honest.

The other store could not refund my credit card because they could not find the order in their system so I had to call my other local store (one I bought it from) on the way home and they were great to deal with.

Floor Models: They are discontinuing the 632U (I don't know about the other models). You may be able to get a fantastic deal if you time things right.

I just got back from Costco with a 632U. They had just sold the last box in the store that morning, so I asked about the floor model, which was not yet for sale. The clerk talked to his manager, who took off $350 from the already discounted price of $1,849.00. Another manager who came to the register to validate the discount decided that wasn't good enough and gave me another discount. With all the various discounts (including the instant rebate), it ended up being $1,250. With a new Blu-ray player, the 9-disc Star Wars collection on Blu-ray, and a 5-year warranty, my total was just under $1,700 after tax. Now to get my cable upgraded and to get this monster calibrated before next Sunday...

so is the 632 backlit or not. I've seen two different things posted in this thread. I just pulled the trigger on the 732 for my...thinking that the 632 was edge lit. If the 632 it fully backlit, what is the drastic difference in price?
The 70" 632 is full array, no local dimming. Main difference is no quattron, which is a good thing.

Are you saying the picture quality is better with no quattron?
Technically... Yes. However, it's all personal preference I suppose. Check out the review that Chad b did in the 732 thread.

Guys, please keep posting deals for the 632 - I am in the hunt right now for one. I would prefer an online purchase but not critical. Thanks.
I am going to be picking up a 632 @ Sears later tonight. $1899 + tax = $2022, and using ShopDiscover for 10% off of that, brings it down to $1833 after tax.

For those that do not have a Discover card, you can try plasticjungle.com to purchase 8% off Sears gift cards as well. YMMV trying to combine the gift cards with some cashback sites like MrRebates though.

Man I thought I got a good deal at HHGregg for $2013 out the door, now with the price being $1899 at Sears, plus the 10% codes on ebay, plus the Shop Discover 10% back I'd save $375 if I return it to HHGregg. I was thnking of just seeing if I could get that deal in the shopping cart on Sears.com and if so, buy it. Bring it home, swap them out and return the original to HHGregg. Anyone know how HHGregg's return policy is? Will there be an issue if I just take it back for a full refund?
The 10% coupon at sears no longer works now that it is on clearance, and it couldn't be combined with shopdiscover before regardless (discover doesn't provide cashback if you use any coupon codes not on their site).

The HHGregg in my area ( South Florida ) had a price match option with a 10% discount - thus with a $1899 Sears price, it would be $1899-$189=$1710 at HHGregg.

Their website says they price match. If you return they might charge a restocking fee, also on their website. I'd talk to your sales rep and see what he can do for you. Let us know how it turns out.

I got the tv for 1899 at HHGregg originally, so that wouldn't work. And I'm pretty sure if I understand correctly, they say they'll match it and give you 10% of the difference, meaning the difference in price. So if it was $100 cheaper, they'll give you the $100 plus an extra 10% of the $100, which is $10, not 10% of the total price.

The best I have seen so far is HH Greg at $ 1.997.77 less 10% registration discount = $1,797.99. + state tax and $69 shipping. I will try to get BB to match with free shipping.

The HH Greg here (Northern Ohio) said they would not price match and apply the 10% discount at the same time.

Just picked up a 70LE632 at costco, $1,850 plus $99 (3) year extended warranty. I wanted to buy it locally in case I needed to return it as Costco offers a full 90 day warranty. I was debating between this tv and the 70le735u but the price difference was $1,000.00. If within the next 90 days the 735u takes a nose dive in price, I may return this and get it.

For the extended warranty, you do not need to buy the TV from Costco. You must buy the extended warranty within 60 days of purchase of the TV. The warranty is through Square deal.

By the way, the tv looks great.

Don't you know extended warranties are one of the biggest rackets going.

I ended up paying very close to, or cheaper than, Amazon listings. BTW, my local BB is in tax-fee NH. Here's the breakdown:

$3200 sale price to begin with. Then minus: $130 gift card (thanks to you guys), $10 rewards coupon, $192 triple-points cash back reward towards future purchase (XBox 2012 or Wii U). Final price: $2868 (no tax, no delivery fee). Then my friend just found this $50 off $500 coupon and I'll try to use it when I go pickup. If it is a success, I'll edit this post.

As you know, BB has price protection for 60 days from today on, nice.

I so wish that Circuit City was still around, it's never healthy to have one big electronics player in any one region. Although this BB treats me super well. Yes, some staff are very 'spirited away' and don't seem to care about customer service, but just keep asking until you find a knowledgeable and nice one who treats you with respect, as simple as that. Like the other poster says, if we all purchase strictly online, even BB may fold (they already retreated from England & China entirely last I heard). So don't think that BB won't go away. And if it does, what do we have left to browse and examine products up close and personal?

Thanks for reading.

Any deals to be had for canadians?

632U, now 1799 @ sears...
Any idea if the 10% coupon can be used at this new 1799 price? I'm guessing not since its even lower than the previous 1899 clearance, but can't hurt to ask someone who bought a coupon code to check it out.

No its not. its $1899.88 for the week in store or online. If you've seen it at your local store then thats that store just trying to get rid of there clearance model. That does not reflect all stores since stores can sell Clrx at different prices.
Add it to your cart, and you'll see its 1799

Don't you know that manufacturers dont care about customers but the money they get from you. No one can say if your tv will or wont break, its an impossible answer. Sometimes tvs can last awhile, sometimes they can break in the first couple of years. Once your out of your LIMITED warranty then your on your own. IF you have any problems and your out of your manufacturers warranty the cost to fix the tv could be the cost of the warranty would could have bought. In the end it's up to the person who buys the product. You may not use the warranty, thats always a possibility but its always better to be safe than sorry.

Thanks for bringing this to my attention - I called sears tonight and they did a second price match. They did not take $100 off the price I paid after 1st price match and 10% off but rather took the new price of $1799 and applied the 10% off coupon I had resulting in an out the door price of $1619.99.

Work for me

I spent a fortune fixing my DLP - I paid the 1st time for the color board (or color wheel?) and when it broke a 2nd time Toshiba picked up the tab.
