Sharp 70" Deals - Page 11

Costco #01 in Seattle has an instant mfr's rebate on the 70" 632u dropping it down from $2200 to $1850. Had at least 8 in stock. The display model was probably the worst calibrated of all the TVs in store so did not impress anyone browsing. On the other hand, the 80" 632u looked really good but did not meet wife approval.

If Costco had the same discount online I would probably pull the trigger since I don't have an easy way to haul it myself. Thoughts on whether we should see price drops before stock runs out?

I purchased a 632 at that price one week ago (3/3) in Lancaster, PA (greater greater Philadelphia area) along with the $99 square trade warranty which puts coverage at 5-years. I have no regrets purchasing at this price and am loving my 632. For what it's worth, my brother has the 733 and i cannot tell the difference between the quattron & non-quattron models, especially now that i've tweaked the color settings a bit (thanks AVSers!).

There were six left in stock when i purchased last week and i saw someone pulling one off the pallet as I got in line for the checkout, so that makes five. That was the last of their stock and they're getting no more shipments. My regular Costco in Newark, DE had already sold out and its 2012 replacement (640?) for sale at $2499.

So with the Square Trade Warranty, if this tv breaks, since this model is discontinued what would they replace it with? I would HATE to get an edgelit replacement.

Looks like it

Sharp's 8 Series AQUOS Quattron 3D LED TVs in screen size classes of 60-, 70- and 80-inches (LC-60LE847U, LC-70LE847U and LC-80LE844U) offer a sleeker look with a newly designed ultra-slim bezel with a black brushed aluminum finish. The 80-inch class model features full array LED, and the 60- and 70-inch class models are edge-lit LED, all with Quattron Quad Pixel Plus II technology and 240Hz.

If Costco had free delivery, they would do a lot more business with members like you and I who don't have a way to move a big box..

Posted earlier elsewhere tonight about the great deal on an open box 703le632 at bby. OB price on the LC-70LE732 in this market is $1799.99

If you can find them, with all the accessories, the open item price yesterday was $1599, today I bit at $1499.99 with free delivery. Had a gift card and some cash - my out the door price was $1206.68 That is a crazy price.

Just noticed that that Amazon has Paul TV's listing for the 70" 70LE847U, but I haven't seen a specific thread or much information about it. Between this and the 735, which is better?

The price is about the same as the 735 so perhaps a price drop is coming for the 735?

Cheers,
John

The 735 is a 2011 set. Back lit led. The 847 is 2012, but is edge lit. No comparisons yet as they're barely shipping at this point.

Just in case anyone is interested, PaulsTV has the Sharp LC70LE745U and includes 2 pair of 3D glasses for $2499 shipped or add 75 for white glove.

Saw the 70le732u quattron for $1699. It's closeout price and is a display unit. Should I buy this, the other option is the vizio 3d at costco for around $1300.

Keep in mind that I am upgrading after 4 years from a 32" vizio.

I just don't like sears extended warranty its very expensive. If I buy it on amex will I get 1 extra year warranty. Can I get square trade like from costco.

Kindly advise

In a MAJOR milestone of history, Costco is FINALLY selling the Sharp 70" 240Hz with 3D for $3300. Includes two pair of glasses. 90 day return policy.
Let Sony and Samsung sick to their no-discount, sky-high prices!

What model # is Costco selling? I don't see it on the Costco website.

SquareTrade only does a cash out, not replacement & then it's what they consider/feel the display to be worth at the time of replacement. IE; the older the display gets the less they will pay . Don't think you pay $99 bucks & it fails one month before the policy ends that you will get full replacement costs that ain't gonna happen !

The Square trade warranty w/Costco for TV's over $1K WILL pay up to a cumulative maximum of $4K or the original purchase price of the TV. It will cover all repairs for the 3 year warranty period, up to the amount of the TV purchase AND they will guarantee the replacement value any time on a non-repairable item during the warranty to the last month (less any previous repairs). This warranty is definitely a better deal than Sharp's and when backed by Costco you can sleep well at night as they will ultimately stand behind everything they sell. A new replacement unit at the end of the warranty will be less anyway as panels get cheaper and cheaper every year..

.Fact is, I still have a 6 year old 57" Aquos that is still running strong and I personally believe it has better PQ than my current 70". I have 2 other Sharps over 3 years old with no problems. You are simply buying peach of mind and for $99 you cant lose on this one...

Exactly! I thought about what to do this time with a new 70" and decided I was not doing the Costco thing and this is why. I can do everything myself, but I have a brick fireplace and decided to let BB install because a brick fireplace can be difficult and I'll let BB be responsible for it. And a square trade warranty doesn't come close to a BB warranty, yes you pay more but if something goes wrong you covered with their total assurance plan. I guess as I get older I consider everything these days and I'm sure that BB will be around for at least till the warranty runs out. And if you read what their up to its going to be around a long time. There going to open stores in China where the money is at.

Found a local sears that has one 70" 632 left new in box, but price is $1899 and only 5% off for using my sears card. I know some people were getting 1799 - 10% from discover cashback or sears card previously, think its still worth the 1899? These are becoming very scarce so i'm tempted to jump on it even at the higher price and hope to get a price match or friends and family price adjustment in the future :-/

I'm seeing the 70 inch 732 in a couple of places in NJ for $2299, and the 70 inch 6400 at Costco for 2499. I'd prefer to get at Costco so I can relatively easily get it home, and return if necc with issues. Plus an extra year warrant is nice. But I'm happy to save $200 and maybe pick up an extended warranty perhaps for 100. And I like the idea of getting some of the extra features the 732 has, like that magic yellow pixel George Takii talked about. But I've pretty much convinced myself that the benefits of the 732 aren't really that great to justify any price increase over the 632, and figure the 6400 is similar.

Thoughts? 732 vs 6400 in a 70 inch? I guess that the price is comparable enough that I should get the better tv? But which is better?

^^ Truth. Costco's return policy is excellent and I wouldn't hesitate to buy from them over BB or any other retailer, if Costco has the same product. If they ever happen to get the Elite 70" I'll buy the next day. Not holding my breath...

Saw that too. Hhgregg has a similar deal but looks like BB throws in two pair of 3D glasses also. Guess this is the new sale price threshold.

I see East Coast TV's has the 847 for $2612 shipped and AllTimeTV.com has it for $2678.

Both seem to have decent reseller ratings. Has anyone used them for a large TV purchase?

Sears in Watertown, NY has a LC-70LE732U for $1319.93. Only catch is you have to pick it up in person. Believe me I tried everything I could to get them to ship it to me. Check out searsoutlet.com
