Sharp 70" Deals - Page 15

Sorry, I can't really answer which of those 2 is better, since the 757 is a new model number to me...?

But after comparing the google specs listed, they seem to be the same. However, the 757U has 2 pairs of 3D glasses included! Which, if you want multiple pairs, may save you some $$$ in the beginning?

Both are Quattron displays, which I love in my 732U. They just seem to be so simliar, I can only imagine the 757U just being a 2013 Model, with very few changes.

I received an email from Amazon this morning advertising WOOT refurbished tvs. Since you go through Amazon to get it I would be much more likely to trust. $1749 for the 70 with 3d and wifi, and down to 1249 for just the basic. They also have the visio 70 for 1299. 65 and 60's are less the 1k. They are authorized for square trade warranties. Anyway, if your looking for a deal...

I picked up an open box LC-70LE845U at Best Buy this evening. It was marked $2238.99 and asked them to take $2000, which they did. Also got them to throw in two pairs of glasses and free delivery. Only thing missing is the remote which isn't a big deal. A very good looking TV, I believe. Looking forward to enjoying it.

Depending on the price difference it could be worth it. I wouldn't pay more than $50-100 more for 240Hz being that it doesn't make a drastic change. If you already have a 120Hz set then I definitely wouldn't upgrade for 240Hz.

120 hz is worthwhile, 240 Hz less so. Except for a very few sets, you won't get native 240 Hz refresh, just 240 Hz backlight scanning. Fake 240 Hz, and I have my doubts it's worth paying more for. I personally wouldn't exclude 120 Hz sets from consideration. If the one you settle on has 240 Hz, fine, if not...

From what I could tell outside of the bezel change, the brightness and motion are improved from my model. They had it for $3,297. Not sure if its worth returning and spending the extra cash on it. That and Im not a fan of the metallic silver along the top and bottom bezel. They also had the new Samsung F8500 plasma, It was nice, but the PQ didn't impress me as it has been getting incredibly talked up.

Nice

I was in Walmart looking at what else... BIG TV's! And noticed there wasn't anything larger than 60" or so? Figured they hadn't got their new 2013 model Sharp's yet, so went on shopping. As I turned the corner, near the closeout/discount & discontinued aisle, I noticed a HUGE panel there. It was their display model Sharp LC70. (I don't recall the Model exactly, but think it was the 640?) and was priced at $1886. So I still feel VERY fortunate to find mine for the price I paid monhs before. And mine wasn't a display model! biggrin.gif

I was at a local Target this past weekend and they had the Sharp LC-70LE640u for $1499...if you have the Target Red Card you get another 5% off. $1425 before tax. This isn't listed on their site or advertised anywhere. It might have just been my local store.

Extremely YMMV, but Target has the LC-70LE640U on clearance for $750.04, It seems it may just be display models, but thanks to slickdeals I checked it out. Went to 5 stores, and the last store had one. They were missing the stand, which didn't matter to me since I am wall mounting, and offered an additional 20% off.

Ended up with the 70LE640U with 3 year additional warranty for $687 out the door!! Worth checking into if you have some Targets close locally...

Yup, scored 1 today as well with remote,stand,screws,manual...you name it..Since it was flr model gave me another 10% off,so $675 for LC-70LE640U. Picture was not bad at all..Can't wait to tweak and play with it.This is off course if I don't flip it..

If I do keep it,I will do a 4yr Square Trade for $60.

Thanks for the heads up. I found one local to me and am hoping I can make it over there before someone buys it.

Did y'all have to ask for the additional percent off for it being a floor model?

Brickie - How can you get a 4 year square trade warranty for $60?

Nope, standard should be 10% off since it's a floor model. They offered additional percentage off since it was missing accessories.

Well, I got lucky. Wasn't able to pick it up until close to 4:00, but they still had it. They wouldn't budge off the $750 even though it was a display. I guess I can't complain too much though.

Thanks ngsm13 for posing this deal!

Went to several Target's today, no luck, they all had the LE550 for $1799 as the only option.
called my Target in my area and the only 70" sharp they had was something like $1500 or $1700 (didnt pay much attention after hearing much more than $750)

two questions

1) On the model they are selling for $750, what is the PQ like? The only one I have to compare it to is the 70" 6500u at Costco for $1800. Are they the same or is one better?

2) If you call Target will they be able to run that code number for the tv and check all the other stores"? Usually I tihnk they can do this, but not sure about floor models

Just throwing this out there, I ordered a Pioneer Elite receiver from PowersellerNYC on ebay about 4 years ago or so. Smooth transaction and never had an issue at all, I paid paypal though. From my experience they are a legit company.

YMMV, but Sharp LC-70LE857U is on sale this month at Microcenter for $1799 (see ad). Unavailable on their website. In-store (Houston), they were unwilling to sell me the one item they had in stock. It was unclear if this was because it was a price mistake or other reason, but they said when they had more in stock they could sell it, just had to wait a week.

I took the ad to several other stores (BB x2, Conn's, Sears) to try to price match with no luck. Fry's finally price matched for me, so this deal may be available depending on where you go.

Looks like the Microcenter deal is also their Black Friday deal for the 857U.  I was able to pick it up.  I was originally intending to get a 757U but they still pulled out a 857U even though they had 0 listed in stock.
