That, and/or until OLED sets of comparable size are comparably priced. In other words, spend $2000-2400 now for what amounts to a placeholder for a few (several?) more years. The other thing about 3D is the quantity of content. It's pretty slim pickens right now. I'd expect that to accelerate, but it sure feels nothing like a must-have feature to me at this point.

Getting closer to my goal - I see $2719.99 through Amazon, $2695.94 through Video and Audio Center through Amazon...keep going!

FYI, I found this site which I hadn't seen before that I thought was neat - camelcamelcamel.com - not affiliated with them at all but shows the price history, you just look the item up at Amazon and paste the url in and voila, it shows the price history, cool!

Getting pretty close to impossible to resist. Even with the new 945 series announced...that new set won't see pricing in the $3k area for a long time, if ever.

That's the point at which I'll pull the trigger, so I sure hope so!!!

Hopefully the new models will put downward pressure on this current generation. As much as I'd love the new features (if everything is as advertised... a BIG "if" until someone experienced gets hands-on with one), I can't swing the high price tag anyway.

I have the Amazon Store Card and tried this promo code and it didn't work. So, it's only for the Amazon Visa card? May be worth applying for.

It also didnt work for a regular Amazon Visa card. I guess it's just the Amazon Rewards card.

Actually, Amazon says my card is a Rewards card, yet the code did not work. Can you verify that code? Is it a one time use?

Ok, so it's only for the Sharp 40 or 46 and up to $2000. This is not going to help us for the 70 and is irrelevant to this thread.

The 735 does (professionally) calibrate better than the models below it. Take a look at Chad B's recent review in the 735 thread. The downside is perhaps slightly more clouding, DSE, and maybe not quite as much contrast although still very close to the 632. However, the 735's improvements in gamma, color, and grayscale tracking give it the edge, overall. You might want to keep this in mind if you plan on professional calibration when buying one of these sets.

I don't see this 735 dropping anymore than 2700-ish. Maybe, a little but not really worth the wait for me. So, $2794.99 it is, for now. Hey if it drops in 15 days, I'll get that price match. If not, if won't bother me. I'll be too busy enjoying the set.

By the way, I'm willing to pay a few bucks more to get it from Pauls TV as opposed to Audio Video Center, but that's just me. I get a better feeling getting it thru Pauls for some reason.

One thing PaulsTV told me was that even though it is through them, you still have to go through Amazon for customer service and any returns.

Video and Audio Center is a legit and reputable company.

I wish I wasn't so indecisive! Well, I don't have the set yet but thought I'd share this with you guys. I called Paul's yesterday and after talking to them, they agreed to sell me the 735 for $2785 along with a 30 day price match. Price right now thru Amazon is 3084.88. I've been holding out to get it thru Amazon with the 12 month no finance, Paul's does not provide this but their 30 day match is nice. Also, I think returns may be smoother thru Amazon...so still holding out. I hear people say wait til Feb because of the holiday returns. Some sellers allowed a price match/return thru the end of January so it kind of makes sense to hold out a bit longer.

I can't believe but I just placed my order through Paul's TV. The Sharp 735 for $2783 shipped. I've been going round and round and just had to finally place the order and give my mind some rest, which I doubt is gonna happen. All the stores around here will not budge on the price (around $3500 + tax). I think I've made the right decision. My other option was getting the Panny 65 VT30 but I think this is the right one! Couldn't be happier. Hope everything goes smooth with the shipping.
