TV is in. Soundbar will go on tomorrow. That is what those wires hanging down are for.

Normally I can't stand any above-the-fireplace application. Yours is the first and only exception that I've seen. Quite an improvement over the brick. Great integration of the mantle and built-in TV cabinet. And the equipment rack as well. Both well thought-out and well executed.

I'm usually on the same page for over the fireplace tv. You though, just didn't bolt a mounting bracket on the wall and called it a day, you thought it out, designed something that is quite unique and made it look like it was all part of the original layout. Very well done indeed.

Thanks Guys! Here it is in its final stage. Soundbar is up and all the touch up is complete.

Nice cozy looking room. I too normally don't care for the above the fireplace approach but you made it look natural and since the point of the room isn't the sound system or tv it blends in with the decor. Well done and thanks for sharing.

Very nice. Any more shots of the process on the woodwork? I'm also curious what you used over the brick - granite?

Unfortunately, no shots of the woodwork going in. I was at work while my wife was supervising the project

The stone over the brick is travertine. It took 2 slabs.
