Battlefield 3 (PS3), Wireless Stereo Headset, Mic not working?

I have the official Sony Wireless Headset: http://www.amazon.com/Wireless-Stere.../dp/B0053OLY9O

I finally got around to playing Battlefield 3 multiplayer, and I'm curious, where are all the voices?... Nobody is talking? It's like a ghost town...

Is it just me? Is my headset broken? Is the game broken?...

I've gone into all the microphone settings, and when I talk I hear myself playback in the earphones... so I think my headset is good...

Help?

Many, many, many, many, many threads on this all over the net - Your mic's fine its the game/ps3 that's the problem. There are many rumors floating around as to why this is happening, but to me the most logic explanation is that BF3 is so ram intensive on the ps3 that is causes problems with the VoIP processing.

So I tried out co-op... and the guy I was playing with did not have a mic (or it wasn't working)... but I was like "hey dude if you can here my nod up and down" and his character did.. then I said "jump up and down" and he did... and finally I said "turn all around" and he did... so CLEARLY the mic worked for me in co-op... but still a no go in Multiplayer. How could this be a bug?? Embarrassing for such a vital part of the game to not work...

This is a good thought. So chances are there will not be a fix, like other BF games for the PS3. Well, if RAM is the issue. Good info blekk.

Im having the same problem, mic works fine in audio settings but doesn't work in ANY games of mine. Sound works fine in headset...

In desperate need of help, it is really bugging me as paid a decent amount of money for it.

I have to Sony headset also. I played this game last night, and it was so intense. The sound was the best i ever heard from a game. I played it for about a hour from the ps plus game trails. I'll have to order the game now.

I only played the single player mission since the game trial was only for a hour. I had no trouble using it on any game. The only trouble i run into is when i watch netflix or vudu. It keeps cutting in & out.
