Howdy,

I'm lost because I don't keep up with tech. So anywho...

My stash is..

Def Tech 7001 fronts
Def Tech 3000 c
" " 7006 surrounds

Denon 1905 AVR-need to upgrade
Emo. XPA 5
Pann. plasma
Xbox
PS3

My question is what pre/pro for around $1500 or less? I just need it for the bells and something that will last for at least 5 years. The XPA 5 is enough power.

Would it do any good to bi amp the fronts if I run surrounds off a reciever? I could also upgrade the surrounds to match the rest of the speaker sizes or just add 2 more surrounds.

Hello,
The Marantz AV7005 would seem to be the best choice. If you could get a deal on an Integra 80.3, I would seriously consider it as it offers Audyssey MultEQ XT32/SubEQ HT as opposed to the MultEQ XT in the 7005.
Cheers,
AD

I also forgot that I have an SVS ultra 12"

I'll check on the Marantz and Integra. Sub EQ would help me out a ton! There is too much info/new tech! It's hurting my brain.

The Marantz 7005 can be had new for that price, but so can a used Integra 80.2 or a used Onkyo 5508 which have the better Audyssey room correction.

It would not make much sense to bi-amp your speakers as your emotiva only has one power supply and it would be sharing that power supply anyway.

I'm not ruling out recievers BTW...It seems a lot of recievers have the same tech as all of these processors.

But why are the receivers cheaper? Doesn't make sense

After a lil digging,I can see why zey are cheaper. Because of greed. There is no difference other than receivers having amplage.

So what is a good receiver with all the goods for value?
