Power DVD breaking VGA?

I have a Samsung LCD with a VGA input that I've been using as a second monitor. My video card allows me to me to send it 1080 so I've been able to watch HD-DVD and Blu-Ray and whatever else on my TV using PowerDVD with no problems for years.

Today I put a new Blu-Ray in my player, (Three Amigos) and PowerDVD 10 pops up and tells me that I have to run a patch to get this movie to play. I do some googling and don't find any warning signs, and no matter what, I couldn't get this disc to play so I went ahead and installed the patch.

Now when I try to play the disc on my TV (again using my LCD TV as a second monitor connected with VGA) I get a popup that says I can only play this disc through a monitor with a digital connection. Exact popup:

"This content is only allowed on a digital output. Ensure your display device uses DVI, HDMI or DisplayPort connector"

I had no problems viewing Blu-rays with PowerDVD10 through the VGA until this very moment. Discs that worked before have also stopped working, so it seems that this patch ruined PowerDVD.

I can only hope that other software I've used to play Blu-Ray's still work, or I'll be pretty ticked.

has anyone else encountered this?

You will need AnyDVD HD to play BDs over VGA with PowerDVD11/TMT5. Once AACS protection removed, you can play BD over VGA with any player (PDVD, TMT, MPC HomeCinema, JRiver MC etc.).

Thanks for replying. Yeah, I confirmed that none of the software I'd used to play them was working now. Grrrrr. Such a pain.

- During 2011 January 1 and 2013 December 31, analog out is limited to 480i
- After 2014 January 1, analog out is banned.

is it really the Analog sunset or the rise of AnyDVD/removing silly DRM?
