Let me start by saying that I'm not a HiDef guy at all. I spend a lot of time on my laptop, but I recently inherited a Samsung HL-P5063W from a family member and decided that I'd rather look at a big screen from the couch than a laptop at my desk.
I have a new macbook pro with a "thunderbolt" port that's supposed to support up to 2560x1600 resolution and the TV has a "native resolution" of 1280x720. I plug the macbook into the TV with a DVI cable and the picture is decent for watching movies, but terrible for surfing the internet, reading text, etc. I don't know if it's lack of resolution or what. Letters are not sharp.
Is there a way to get better resolution (maybe by using something VGA or something else instead of DVI); or is it not practical to expect to surf the internet and read text from 8 feet away on this TV?
