HK 2600 or 1650?

I'm new to the sound system arena. I can get an HK AVR 2600 for around $250 or an HK AVR 1650 for $330. Is there any reason not to go with the 2600? It seems like the more high end system but is a couple years old. Also, is there any better system I can get than those 2 for under $350?

I am using a 360 for most of my viewing and audio needs, so new streaming features are not of interest to me.

Also, what is a good sub woofer recommendation for under $200?

I would go with the 2600 just for Dolby Volume.

Even the AVR 1650 has dolby processing, per crutchfield.

+1 for the 2600. As per MCode the X50 series took a hit on the amp ratings compared to the previous years models.

Go for the 2600.

Despite what Crutchfield says, the 1650 does not have Dolby Volume. The 2600 is also a 7.1 amp, and weighs in at 26lbs vs. 20lbs and 5.1 for the 1650.

I think the 2600 is the better amp by any comparison, and the fact that it's cheaper is even better.

It has Dolby processing but not Dolby volume. Crutchfield has this listed wrong. If you go to the Harman Kardon website they don't list it as a feature.
Also the 95W/Ch for the 1650 is for only 2 ch driven where as the 2600 is 65W/Ch with all channels being driven. I think H/K changed how they rate their power so it's more competitive with other brands. People would see 65w/ch and think it wasn't much so they would pass it up. I have a 2600 and really like it.
