I use an old 8500ub on a 153" 1.0 gain screen and mine looks plenty bright.......so I'm saying......yes.

all projectors have a latency delay but most receivers have an auto/manual correct. That's where I'd look. Might be labeled 'lip sync'.

I decided to take my projector down and disconnected my hdmi and all cords and rehooked up everything. It didn't fix anything. I start hearing the words and then the lips start to move on a delay. I cant figure it out. Ive owned several projectors and moved several times; so essentially i've taken my projectors up and down more than once and never had this issue. Im VERY puzzled and VERY annoyed. I APPRECIATE ANY HELP. My reciever doesnt have a lip sync or delay.

the only way I would know how to fix it would be......time to get a new AVR. Even a cheap $200 one will have lip sync. I'm surprised, your AVR has HDMI inputs but no lip syinc??????

Well as bad as it sounds my reciever doesnt have an hdmi input. Its an old reciever. So im hooked up= Ps3 using hdmi to projector. Then ps3 using red/white to reciever. Then receiver to speakers. Ive taken the system up and down more than once and never done this. With the sound on time I dont think its the reciever. I know its not the hdmi cord. So it has to be in the ps3 or projector.

Ahhh, when you mentioned your HDMI cable was good I thought....well you know what I thought.

A new cheap AVR's not an option? You should be able to pick up a used one for $100-$200 and that would definitely fix the issue.

If you have a quallity good receiver without HDMI, like me, you could buy a Felston Audio Delay.
I have a High-End receiver too without HDMI.
If I want to replace this one in the same audio quallity it will cost me around $2600 now.
The Felston is a cheaper option.
It has Optical and Coax, and you can Delay the audio very far, really incredible.

Now, if you need an audio delay, but also need a good HDMI switccher with 2 ouputs, in the quallity of DVDO, than you might want tob start thinking of buying a new receiver afterall.
In that case you will also have the newer audio formats, and a lot less remote controls.

I appreciate it. I think i am going to go ahead and get a new reciever. I just cant figure out why its doin it now and never before with the 5010 or any of my other Epson projectors. If I get a new receiver then how does that lip sync button work. Ive read a little bit about it but it says you can adjust it or something. So do I have to do a lag test first and how do I do that.

With a new receiver with HDMI hookups you may not have to do anything. I have the lip sync controls on my Yamaha RX-A2010 receiver but have never used it. I have HDMI from my Insight digital cable box to the receiver and then output approx 25' to my Epson 5010. Once, the sync was slightly off but after changing TV channels momentarily and then coming back to the channel I was watching, everything was normal.

Perhaps a "dumb" question, but I'm assuming the 6010 is a decent step up from the 5010, performance wise - in addition to all the "extras" supplied with the 6010?

Nope, they're exactly the same projector inside. The extras are the reason for the difference in price

Really? I thought the 6010 had a THX mode, which the 5010 does not have? Any other differences?

My newly purchased 6010 has firmware version 103. What benefits are there to updating to V104?

Yes but the THX Mode should be a more calibrated mode.
I have not seen it though, because in Europe we only have 1 model with Wifi or without wifi, but not like the 5010 and 6010.
It shall never replace a real calibration.

About lipsync,... (If needed)
If you have problems on your newer receiver, you can use a lipsync pattern for this.
On the DVE it is a compas/circle that also flashes on the beep.
You can higher the delay till the flash and the beep are simultanious.
Very easy to do.

I bought a new receiver (Denon 1912) and some new speakers. I was going straight from Ps3 to 5010 w/hdmi and Ps3 to receiver with red and white audio cords. Do I now go from Ps3 and cable box to receiver then receiver to 5010? Do I need to reset my Ps3 in anyway for the new receiver? I was thinking about reseting my Ps3 to my lower scale 720p and then reseting it again for the 5010 to try and see if it was out of sync.

I cant turn my 6010 off with the remote. The manual says to hit the power button on the remote twice to turn the 6010 off. This does nothing for me, I have to hit the standby button but all this does is put it into standby. The manual also for longevity purposes it is best to not leave it in standby but to turn it off completely when not in use.

Looks like the Denon model you bought has multiple HDMI inputs and one HDMI output. I would go HDMI cable from the PS3 to the receiver and also HDMI cable from your cable box to the receiver. You'll then have one HDMI from your receiver to your 5010. Get yourself a Harmony remote which will make all the device switching seamless.

I have a tw9000 equivalent vegashomes and the manuals are likely a bit different but have a hunt for a standby confirmation setting Epsons arent as intuitive as previous projectors in this Ive had but you get used to little quirks -eventually...

Because of the wireless HDMI the remote sometimes have problems listening to the commands.
I thought, that is why I have to press the button twice sometimes to turn it off.
Other times it goes right away.

If the manual sais that it needs to be pressed two times,... I shall check this with more care.

For me it is impossible to use the Powerswitch on the back, without the need of lining up the projector again.

I received my receiver and speakers today and im planning on hooking it up tonight or tomorrow night to the ps3 and 5010. Wish me luck on fixing my sync issue. I do have a question tho. Do I have to reset or sync my Ps3 to the new receiver? My old one didn't have hdmi so It was just plug and play and I didnt know if this was the same.

I have just got my Epson powerlite pro cinema 6010. I have an new iMac where I have a lot of downloaded blu ray movies and blu ray 3D movies. What is the best sollution to watch these movies on my projector screen?

HDMI from iMac to either the 6010 directly or to an AVR then 6010 via HDMI.

Does that work with a mini dvi to dhmi to? My Imac does not ahve hdmi out.

YES. Thanks I appreciate it. I hooked everything up last night and so far I see no more sync issues. I bought all new surround sound speakers, speaker wire and receiver. I watched a few minutes of several movies and 3d movies and I saw no issues at all. So hopefully now I wont have to upgrade for a while. Thanks for the help.
