Either I don't understand your question, or you don't understand how HDMI works.
With HDMI, the audio and video is being transported on the same cable. Don't listen to anybody that says you can do something to transport audio on DVI, because first your card probably doesn't support it and second the equipment you're using probably doesn't support it either. Plus, it's not standard. DVI was never intended to carry audio.
If you had a video card that supported HDMI, you'd simply plug it in to your "surround sound device" input (I honestly have no idea what this is) and then, presumably, plug that unit's output into your display device's input. The audio (and video) would be sent from your video card to the surround sound and the video would be passed through to your display device. Seriously, it couldn't be easier. It's like dressing your kids in Garanimals.
