VW32L HDTV40A not working, please help...

I have a VW32L HDVT40A, it worked fine for a while and then died, wouldn't power on. searched online and someone said unplugged and hold the power button for a minute, it then started working again, it lasted about 2 months then it did it again(tried to turn it on and audio popped and tv cut off) so I did the same, unplugged and held the power button, it didn't work so i tried it again and it started working again. 2 weeks later it dies again so more research and everyone seemed to point to the power supply board, leaky capacitors, I pulled the back off and the caps look fine and i didn't see any evidence of any problems, almost giving up I figured let me try a new power board so I ordered a used power supply board from discount tv parts(32 shipped) stuck it in and unfortunately no change. so I pulled it back apart and started taking more things loose looking for obvious problems, so off came the little lcd looking thing and the cover for the main board and then the main board. everything looked of so put it all back together and plugged it in and it worked... 3 days later its dead again. Can anyone shed any light on this, because I am totally lost and don't know what to do next. and obviously with Christmas around the corner I'm trying to avoid having to buy another TV.

Thanks in advance, hope we can get this thing fixed

I've posted number of times on these forums how to clean contacts: use hard pencil rubber and rub the exposed copper ends until they are shiny... do not damage the connectors and do not use any liquid (methylated spirits or similar).

The power supply board has voltage rails’ values printed on the components' side of the PCB, next to the connectors... check them all (WARNING - lethal voltages inside!!!).

Service manual will have everything you need to diagnose the exact cause of the problem... you'll need at least a multimeter and some knowledge in electronics.... if a voltage rail looks suspicious, hook the multimeter on to it and monitor the CHANGE in voltage over time (better – use CRO and check the ripple…)

No idea what I’m talking about at end of last paragraph? Take it to service

what contacts are you talking about, are you talking about the copper thats coated on the pcb's where they touch the tv's metal frame? and wheres a good place to find a service manual.
Thanks for the response Boky
