Time Warner has added channels 1333 and 1334 to our lineup. These are 3D channels. Some divisions not sure what divisions will have the Coca Cola Zero 400 race from Florida in 3D this weekend on the third. Call your local office for details. Thats all the information I have.

Oh my, oh my!!! Directv is here as we speak.....
THIS TIME, it's working! (if you will recall, two years ago, the installer just shook his head and said I had too many trees - we think he just didn't want to do the job!)

I'll update y'all when I figure it all out - after I attend 1776 at the Carolina Theatre!

Pam, if you have more than 1 HDTV, did you get the Whole Home DVR setup? Also, I'm curious, what model of HD DVR did you get?

We got the HR23-700 model. We have a second HD box, but no HDTV (yet). I wanted to get the whole house DVR, but the setup was going to cost another $150 (or $199 or something to that sort) - In trying to save a little cash I said no. We can always add it later.

Because he finished Friday afternoon and we've had company most of the weekend, I haven't even gone in there to play with it yet! But I have all week until City Meet! (I hope the weather cooperates like it did this weekend - Lindley Pool can be a bear!)

I've been getting the "this channel unavailable" message more frequently over the last few days for my HD channels, anyone else noticing this.

I'm deliberating purchase of a Moxi 3-tuner DVR. As I understand things the Cisco Tuning Adapter available from TWC in my area (Rural Hall) will only support 2 of the tuners. The Moxi will auto-disable the 3rd tuner when the TA is connected.

Two questions:

1. Is there any alternative Tuning Adapter that will work with all 3 tuners? Am told the one from Motorola will work but that it is probably not compatible with the TWC 'head-end' unit and thus cannot be used on the TWC network.

2. Can anyone point me to a list of the TWC channels that use SDV in the Piedmont-Triad area? It is possible that I'd be better off not using the TA and just forego the option to view/record these channels if I don't really care about them. I would in this case keep the TWC DVR box to receive these channels. Google searches for this SDV channel lineup have been frustrating and without success.

I'm not sure if this should post here or not, but since it relates to Triad-area channels, I thought I'd give it a shot...

Last night, we had a Duke Energy transformer blow while we were watching TV. When the power was restored hours later, the TV and STB powered back on and I noticed all the SA boot screens as I walked by.

Tonight I paused while watching a recorded movie from the Fox Movie Channel to schedule another movie on that channel. I was given a purchase screen for the movie tier. According to the digital lineup brochure we got in the mail, I should still have access to FMC via the digital tier, just like I always have. (Interestingly, I've always had IFC SD, which *is* listed as movie tier only, but I've always gotten the purchase screen with IFC HD.)

The transformer reset is the only odd thing that's happened so I wondered if anyone else had seen the same channel scenario in recent days or if it was only me. Thanks in advance for any info.

I've always noticed the same with IFC SD vs. HD. (I get SD, but not the HD.) I looked at FXM today and I don't get it anymore either. A quick check of their web site (go to Support -> Digital Cable -> Channel Change information) reveals they moved FXM to the movie tier on July 7th.

Would have let you guys know earlier if I hadn't been out of town at a sister station the last few days but the new splicers are on line now. When I get back in the office Monday, I will see what we have to do to them further.

Thanks. I tried checking the website, but every time I entered my zip code for the localization, it recycled right back to a blank box for me to begin again. I guess I'll have to decide if I'd get *yet another* $4 worth of use out of FXM and the Encore channels.

I got them as well here in Ft. Mill along with WGHP.

Has anyone had luck finding a Cisco 8640 in the Winston area?

I know the Mall has the Samsung boxes (one of my friends picked one up), but I'd rather go with the 8640 if possible. I currently have the 8240.

I was told by a TWC engineer in Greensboro that all HD channels (except for locals) are on the SDV lineup and many of the non-HD digital channels are also in it. He couldn't/wouldn't point me to a definitive list of what is included.

You know, at 10:00 PM I wanted to see the live or at least updated radar of the storms. Ch 2-2's weather channel is useless. Had to log on to Ch 12's website to see live radar that can be seen with enough clarity to see whats going on locally.

I haven't used the WXII site but I happened to think when I was watching the radar during the News 2 coverage at 6:45ish... when the radar at weatherunderground.com shows rain over me, the rain starts. I've repeatedly been impressed with its accuracy. YMMV but that's been my experience...
I use weatherunderground to, in fact I was checking all the local stations radar online. I was just frustrated because I wanted to sit on my couch and find a station with good radar. This of course was after ch 12's to the wall coverage. I lost my microwave to Level Cross from Greensboro for about a half hour at 9:PM and I wanted to see where the heavy rain was.

Zane, it was bad. We lost our 13 Ghz Greensboro link several times yesterday, and once on air with our Greensboro cam! It was out about 10 minutes at that time. I haven't seen localized storm intensity like this in years.
What you guys had last night is over top of me now.

Stations around here (ENC area) don't seem interested in radars on subs either, especially at night. You should do what I did and download google earth and add kmz files of doppler and warnings. It's all live and you can see your house and the radars update on their own every minute.

That sounds ideal. I wonder if there's a similar non-google option available.

Yep, seems 13 Ghz is the first to go. I see losses during the wee hours of the morning when there are thermal inversions happening. I can pull up the past 24 hour graphs of RSL and SNR levels and see when the dropouts occured. Yesterday evening the graphs looked like a cardio strip of someone having a heart attack. (me)

Yeah. I just wish there was a 7 GHz channel open. You find one and I will put my name to it.

I am curious what all the stations are using these ICR and STL for? 3 STLs?

Due to the 3 news stations, we all have 2Ghz receive sites in each town ( 3 per town) along with STL's and TSL's. We alone have 4 receive sites. One on the tower which comes back on the TSL, one in Greensboro, that comes back on 13 GHz, one in Winston-Salem back and the 4th one is on our STL tower so no RF involved. WFMY and WXII also have many ICR's criss crossing the Triad. WFMY has their network receivers at their tower due to TI and it comes back via 7 GHz. We are full here.

I'm on Hwy220 north of Summerfield and last night I couldn't get ANY On Demand programs. Just kept getting a "the network is unavailable" message. Is anyone else getting this?

We've been having the same problem, here off Silas Creek. TWC channels have been really flaky over the last month. Even the analog channels will freeze up.

Noticing this with some of the HD channels. FX HD went out last night for about an hour. The SD channel was fine.
