It will never get Netflix, as Netflix deems all PCH devices do not meet thier requirements.I think Werner said Netflix will never be on thier PCH units.
Yes, they will never have Netflix. They had hoped to have it on the PopBox but it never worked out.

The answer to that is simple: NEVER.

Is there an echo in here?

Don't think there is any expectation that Netflix will come to the PCH

I bought a popcorn hour c300 for Christmas. The problem is for this lunch bucket carrying factory worker is that I don't' understand how to use it. Now I have read just about everything there is to read on setup and guess what I still don't get it ! I now consider myself mentally challenged on the use of technology(stupid). What I'm asking is there any of you techno geniuses out there that would be willing to take the time to talk me through it on the phone? Typing is not one of my strong suits. Please pm me thanks.

Hi everybody,

I am considering the C-300 as it has a display that should allow me to use it for music playback without firing up the beamer. Is that correct?

Does anybody know if multichannel FLAC is supported and up to which resolution? 24bit/96kHz or even 24/192 in 5.1 possible? Connection would be via HDMI to my Pioneer SC-LX86.

Last, but not least: how buggy is the C-300? Any major issues? How good is the support by PCH?

Thanks for your replies and feel free to elaborate. wink.gif

You're in luck because that's all in this thread.

Seems that's not quite true... eek.gif

I actually went through the posts prior to writing myself, but 99% is about the A300 - not the C300.

In case I missed anything I'd be glad if you could give me the post numbers and I will look them up. wink.gif

They are both the same. The C300 can have a BD drive installed. Good luck.

Well I'm glad I bought the square trade warranty. I knew this POS was going to break just like when my A200 broke twice. Bought it in July and now here it is February. No picture from HDMI, Component, or Composite. Unplugging turning on and off does nothing. I'm not about to go through with Popcorn's abysmal warranty support like last time. (One month of email to get it repaired. One month of waiting to receive unit back. Then it broke again right after their 90 day warranty for repaired product.)

I'm not buying another one of their products again. Not fooling me for a third time!

Having trouble with Audio CD Ripper. I have ripped 90% of my collection but some Cd's nothing happens. The unusual thing is that some titles will rip volume 2 but not volume 1. Any suggestions? Thanks

I have a few questions
1 Does the C300 Rip my BD movies to a hard drive and how does it get rid of the copywrite protection and does it reformate it to a smaller size file.

2 There are programs out there that do this and if the C300 does not do it can a person install these programs on the C300 so that it will.

I also notice a few mentions about the c300 not recognizing a number of external hard drives. I have 5 hard drives of movies and music and am adding movies all the time
3. Will the C300 reconize all my hard drives and once hard wired to my modem allow me to set uyp a NAS system

4 Will the c 300 allow me to add without having to redown load my cover art etc.

5 I currently am using XBMC Will that coverart etc work on the C300 or does it store it differntly.

6 From what I can see I can put a BD player recorder into the unit. Can I hook one up with a external USB drive. Does it have the software to work such a unit.

I can answer 1 and 2:

1. No, you need to use a PC to rip your Blu rays

2. Yes, most people use AnyDVD, DVDFab, or MakeMKV to rip their Blu rays. These softwares are for PCs though and cannot be installed on the PCH

Also, as far as 3 you can us the PCH as a NAS to stream media to other locations (although I prefer to have a dedicated server for this)

I have a 3Tb disk of movies, can I install this disk in my c-300 and play movies off the machine?
I didn't know if the PCH formatted the disk when inserted and I don't want to loose the movies.

It will not format the disc. if its formatted NTFS or what not it will read it just fine and play. Only way to format it inside the machine is going through the setup menu

Slightly different sigma chip. I would say the C200 had more time to mature and get the attention of the developers (the 300 series seems like it was rushed out and then put on the backburner for the 400 series). The 300 series can run the flash jukeboxes (IIRC the 200 series cannot)

Different chip (400 has VXP processing which depending on who you talk to is either great or so hampered that it is a waste). Otherwise I believe they both have similar capabilities (aside from Blu ray 3D which the 400 series support, and the 300 series I believe support full BD menus for 2D which would then include seamless branch and forced sub support).

I believe the main benefit would be if you have a lot of SD content. However, it would also depend on what you have in your chain (i.e. you may already have an AVR that is doing video processing)

Ahhh yes, dueling vid processors. Source components, AVR's/pre-pros and displays ... with some still adding standalones. I apply vertical stretch with my JVC projector, but my content is all 1080p/i with the occasional 720p TV channel. Vid processing is OFF in all other components.
