The Last Of Us - an exclusive apocalypse survival game, now remastered for the PS4 - Page 23

I made it to Bill's upside down trap on Survivor. So far humans are same as on easy for stealth, but the infected... anything over the slowest sneaking walk and they all swarm you, not looking forward to a few of the battles coming up. Ammo is also stupidly rare, so far I have found 5 9mm rounds since I got the gun. (Not counting shiv doors) So far I have only fired one shot, and that was to drop the runner hiding in the house that Ellie freaks out over going in.

I know what you mean. Try to save your ammo against the bloater. In other words, sneak all you can.
I faced that bloater with praticaly no ammo. I ran in circle killing the infected for them to drop some ammo, in survivor mode.

Think of a strategy already when you'll play as Ellie against that bloater.

Save my Molotavs is my Bloater Strategy, it really weakens them, the Garage right after it has Shotgun ammo so that will be my gun of choice. Warning: Spoiler! (Click to show)
The Bloater part of Ellie's mission is the easiest part of it for me, the rush before it drops in is one of my most hated moments in the game. Warning: Spoiler! (Click to show)

molotov for the bloaters. shivs for the clickers and i only use the shotgun when im being swarmed with those runners. i let them get up close and blast them all with one shot smile.gif it feels great. i prefer stealth against people and when i have to use a gun its usually the rifle. i played the game twice and i think that you get a decent amount of ammo if you play slow and do things nice n quite.

Have you tried survivor yet? Talk about items/ammo being rare...

Upgrades to weapons carry over in additional playthroughs, right? Just the weapons themselves need to be picked back up first?
So, basically you guys have decided not to bother with spoiler tags at all, anymore?
anyone get this game to play in 3D. how does it look ?
Correct.

Doh, I meant survivor.

One tip, using pills to upgrage your health fully heals you, so save it for when you really need it.

Survivor is making me hate the annoying sections even more. Stalkers are impossible to sneak around now, making stealth a non option in one certain area before the suburbs. At least now I am past all the areas that I hated, only one area remains that may give me a headache, and I am not too worried since I will have a fresh flamethrower for it.

I will have to do it one more time for Survivor Plus, but after that I will never have to deal with the psychic infected again...

stop stepping on sticks and glass.

I learned that on my first playthrough. The infected on Survivor can hear the slowest walk from way too far.

It looks like Naughty Dog has detailed the original ending, lots of spoilers for the current ending and story so use caution on gaming sites over the next few days.

I'm glad they choose the ending we have.
What chapter section are you at now in survivor?
I made it to winter, past the first part of it. Lack of ammo is getting very frustrating, I have found none in the environment or from enemy drops for the last several chapters.

Update: One section away from the final area, ammo only drops when I am out... Not that I need it anymore, the last two sections are simple. I have 3 Molitov's for the forced gunfight and two rounds for my Rifle, more than enough to finish with. (Not counting any of my other guns)

Survivor clear, on to survivor plus. Final area was as much of a joke as I thought it would be. Using stealth, barely shooting and conserving my rags and alchohol for Molitovs really paid off, used them all because I had them even though I never needed more than one. (And I wouldn't keep them after that)

Congrats, plus game will be easier smile.gif

Yet to fire a shot on my NG+ run (at the North Tunnel), I am going to try for an aggressive stealth/melee approach for most of the game. Most of the fights should be easy, plus it lets me save my ammo for infected fights and the forced firefights later on.

I forgot how much I hate the school, poor checkpoints and enemy placement, it makes for a poor encounter on Survivor. Even a perfect run can be ruined in the final stretch by a random grab.

I died so stupidly in that part because of that lol.

Made it to the Hotel. Pretty easy going after I get through the basement. After that I only have two headache areas left andI am done with Survivor!
I tackled the hotel differently this time, I made mistakes and wanted to see how it played out. It was some of the most fun I had with the game so far. I actually had an enemy sneak up on me that wasn't a stalker!

I am almost done with this city, and as good as the AI is, unless I go out of my way to set them off it is far too easy to read them, even without listen mode. Only the stalkers have decent AI sadly.

And Survivor Plus is done. Time to take a break from this masterpiece for a while. I think Tales of Xillia is next, I need something very different because anything similar in gameplay will just feel underwhelming in comparison.

lol every game feels cheap after playing the last of us wink.gif

Tomb Raider and Ni No Kuni worked for me.
Already beat Ni No Kuni, and Tomb Raider is on the way, but I need a break from that style of game for a while.

Tiger Woods 14. :-)

I would say Xillia was the perfect choice, plenty of humor and a much more upbeat tone, the skits have made me laugh many times and I am only a few hours in. It is a great counter to all the brutality and depression of The Last of Us.

Is the wall of text there? T ha t t y p I n g o u t ev e r y t h in g gets old and is the biggest bummer in Ni No Kuni. Just voice act it already.
