What do you game on? HDTV or LCD Monitor?

Just wondering what you guys game on. I've read some posts where users are having great success putting their 360s on LCD Monitors w/ 2ms response times and enjoy the overall experience more than viewing on their TV.

So I'm wondering - What are you guys gaming on?

Is there a competitive advantage to gaming on a monitor as opposed to a TV? I"ve read its easier to scan the playing field in FPS games on a monitor (less real estate to take in). ????

Samsung LN46A850 LCD HDTV in Game Mode.

No Complaints-Fast Response Time.

I game on a 50" Panasonic S1. Low input lag and it looks great. I like kicking back on the couch and playing. I play to have fun and this setup works. I don't think my TV is hindering my play much.

None of the above

Projector.

50" plasma.

Size of the screen is meaningless without taking distance from it into account.

Pixel response time has to do with image quality, not input lag/playability.

I find that with 30fps games, plasma just looks way better than any LCD. Even with a low response time, the way the image stays locked on the frame instead of just flashing it momentarily like film/CRT just looks off to me. LCDs make great monitors, but I just don't like they way they look for anything in motion, and it gets worse the lower the frame rate goes.

I'm on a 42" Panasonic S2 series Plasma for my Phobos of Mars gamertag and on a cheapy 32" Vizio LCD in the bedroom on my Titan of Saturn gamertag. Both are 1080p.

Projector (LED DLP)

My theater has been out of commission for mold remediation the past 2 or 3 weeks so I've been gaming on the Nerd Vision 5000, er Sony HMZ-T1 and the 40" LCD in my office.

But since I upgraded to the LED based DLP this spring I had been gaming exclusively on it. The HMZ-T1 will get me through the Christmas holiday though

A monitor would be best - the 'thing' with how responsive a screen is, is that once you get use to it, you don't think it's affecting how you play, even if it does.. but not really any which is clearly better than the rest for console gaming, unless the dell u2312hm is proven to actually have less than 1ms of input lag

That is a nice monitor tibble, but aesthetically, it's one of the most plain-jane ordinary looking monitors I have seen in a long time. It needs something like some gray or silver to offset its drabness.

Ooops! I made a mistake on the vote. I mean to select LED Monitor and not HDTV LED. Sorry

I game on my 27" iMac.

All of the choices listed + DLP front projection.

My 46" Panasonic plasma and 5.1 surround sound when I want to relax and experience the game (leave me alone-- 46" is all I can fit into my apt), my 37" LCD television monitor and 5.1 headset for when I want to CoD (or when I'm banished from the living room...).

This discussion has been had before and I'll add the same opinion as I did previously: I don't think the monitor changes your play style as much as the position. When sitting at a monitor you tend to sit upright or lean forward which gets you engaged a bit more than slouching on the couch. I play CoD on my LCD in an ikea stool/office chair that is comfortable but not relaxing-- when I play CoD I tend to be more involved in the competitive nature of the game rather than using it as a tool for relaxation.

I find that if I lounge in my LaZBoy I suck even worse than if I sit on the edge and lean towards my TV.

I noticed the same thing. On my projector, I sit on the couch and have noticed when I'm nice and snuggled in, I do poorly. If I sit up and forward, I am more engaged.

I also have a 50" plasma in the same room and when I do game on that (rarely), I sit closer on my coffee table.

I have a HDTV - LCD, Sharp 42" 1080p 60hz that I used to use, but ever since this summer, I have been playing on a Optima HD20 Projector. Nothing like gaming on a 131" screen!

Samsung DLP. HLP5685. I have been thinking about a new TV lately though.
