L/R Mains under 500?

I'm in the market for some mains under 500. What I'm looking for is excellent upper/mid bass response and smooth highs with clear mids. Would prefer towers but I'm not picky, function over form. Would like for them to be able to handle up to 200 watts. Finish doesn't matter.

Any suggestions? Thank you.

Thanks... what else should I be looking at?

Arx A3 towers are $499 but shipping if around $60-80 so that puts you alittle over, the Arx A2 LCRS would fall under your budget but you'll need stands for those.

Look at the PSB GB1 - they will handle 200 watts - and sound real good.

Are you using them for music, movies or both?

Right now, the egg has Monitor 70's series II for the lowest I've ever seen. They handle up to 275w.

These speakers sound great for movies, not the best musically, but have mine amped and sound very good musically (set to small).

Don't forget to use a coupon code or two to if you buy the P362's from Crutchfield.

Plus, they sometimes have open box/scratch and dent stuff.
