What he said.

I wish I had the room to host something like this. We can reschedule for another date and location, unless we get someone else to hose it. Good luck with the new job though.

Man that's a shame for sure, but I suppose life will go on. I'd offer my place but the wife has reign for the weekend. My rooms are far from ideal anyway.

Doesn't that wife of yours need a full day sauna package? She's been working sooooo hard!

I wasn't expecting to get a call back so soon or to have to start so soon...but I got the call at 5:30 tonight and they want me there in two weeks to get everything ready for the upcoming building season since I sell patio block. I was really looking forward to seeing if anything can beat my 7hz extension I get my 5 mfw's. I have never measured with the 6th mfw in place.

If anyone is interested I would love to sell some equipment before I move to help cover costs.

Honestly Even if I pressed her hard my room and equipment aren't even close to 'good' for this type of testing. Two of the walls are open and the total volume is something in the 12K cubic foot area. I also have no audessey/eq unitl he minidsp is set up.

Anyone in the area have a decent room we could rent for the day?

I just really don't think I'm going to be in the right mindset to be a gracious host and I wouldn't have a good time myself. Is there anyone else that might be able to host nearby? I would still make an appearance for a few hours. Guys once again I am extremely sorry for the late notice and I will definitely host once a get settled in my new home in a few months in Massachusetts.

Sincerely,
Mike

Congrats on the new job and good luck with the move! Don't sweat the GTG - life happens:-)

Great news and sad news. Great news on the job . Sad news that the GTG is off. I was looking forward to hearing some of these other subs but working takes priority over audio. Oh well, maybe some time in the future someone one else can hold one of these in the area. So good luck with the job. Even though I know packing sucks. Don't worry about the GTG. Like I said, life is more important then audio.

Man that sucks. Was interested to see what everyone thought of the subs.

With these Dual opposed MFW drivers I am borrowing right now, I am pretty happy with the performance and sound. They aren't too bad if working properly with some EQ.

+1

But life happens, and you can never tell what's around that next corner. Good luck with the new job!

it'll happen another time... there's enough motivation...

That's more then I can fit. Craig and Dennis came over this afternoon. When you add me, that's it. It would be cool if this can happen at some point though.

^^^

lessee, if we could somehow combine our two rooms, that gets us to 7...

maybe we could do a webx meet?
I wish I could host but I live in a townhome. I don't think the neighbors would be very happy. I am disapointed as I will be in the market for some new subs within the next year and wanted to hear some of the contendors.

I hope someone comes forward with a large home theater venue that wants to get some real sub testing going. I was so looking forward to hearing the JTR and Seaton. I can just hope that it will happen.

I have clubhouse in my neighborhood I thougt about renting to host. But it has full time video surveillance and the caretaker might just get me kicked out of the HOA for shacking the place off the foundation and maybe cracking the grout with some big dogs.

I'm listing the event officially as 'postponed'. I do believe we still have of ton of interest, we just need to figure out the logistics of when and where.

If anyone has a potential location they would be able to offer, we all would be forever grateful. Please contact me with any information.

Sounds good to me - I'm usually there once or twice a year.

Don't think I'm bringing the JL's though

That's cool guys, whenever you are here in Barbados, please feel free to drop by anytime.

Will do - I'm usually somewhere near Rockley - not that Barbados is that big, but are you near that area?

Just about 10 minutes drive but as you said, nowhere here is far. But do give me a shout when you come down. There is currently a member down here and I have ha him over already. This is actually the second time he has been to my home. I like to have guests over especially folks who can give me some constructive criticism on my system.

Awesome - I will PM you when I know when the next trip is!

I would offer up my house.
I live in Harford County, MD, 10 mins from the PA line and 15 mins from Bel Air.

My movie room is small (15x16 unfortunately) but I could reconfigure the play area in the basement (outside the dedicated theater) to setup more equipment.
Wow been gone a few days and come back to see that we are cancelled. I'll say what most of us are thinking..CRAP!! But then again, what else we are thinking is that this is good news for you Mike... CONGRATULATIONS.

I just lightly broached the subject of hosting with the wife as just kinda joking but hopeful if you know what I mean. What the hell was I thinking!!!!! Let's just leave it at that!!

Hey there - Really appreciate the offer! What is the size of the free room? Do you have a TV setup in there?

I did receive some other interest as a host from another member on here - Mac.Concierge. His name is Joe and he's located in Staten Island. I don't have all the details yet but I know his room is rather large to the tune of something like 28x50! I do know that he would also need someone to bring a receiver as his is currently in repair.

So - My question for everyone is who would be interested in attending in either one of these scenarios? Let's assuming the date would remain the same for now but we can reschedule in my case. I know in my case I would need some hauling help to bring my Caps wherever I would go. As a worst case maybe those that are local to either area could get together for a 'dry-run' session.

I have an Epson 8350 and a 92" pull down screen. The room has a funky bump out making my back wall not perfectly flat. Sooo many compromises. Would rather use a 100" screen.

I also have an Onkyo TX709, Acurus A125x5, several rack mount amps (Crown, QSC, Behringer), HTPC, various B-R players, keg, mixer, mics, Karaoke, etc.

Also I neglected to mention while it is in the basement, I have a walkout door so anything obscenely heavy could be hand trucked in.

It's great to see all these guys volunteering their spaces to keep this thing going.

You probably could have stopped at keg and got a lot of positive responses
