Accurate fabric cuts?

I have a temp screenwall at my home right now (planning on moving soon). I'm working on an idea that would require accurate fabric cuts from the store. Can they do that? I've never bought fabric and asked them to cut it to accurate dimensions... Always done 'rough cuts' in the past.

Can you buy fabric at a store and have them cut it to exact dimensions? If so, what sort of edge do you get with that cut?

I wouldn't count on it.

no such thing, fabric stretches.

cut it big, apply it to whatever project (be it screen walls, walls, furniture, cushions, pool tables) and cut the excess off after it is sewn, fastened, glued, or whatever.

been done that way for thousands of years.

So I went to Hobby Lobby on Sat and she said they can do accurate cuts (accurate for my needs were to the half inch), but that she couldn't do it while I waited. I asked how long, she said it would be ready for pickup the next day. Being the normal impatient guy I said, "where can I find your best scissors?" (sadly they only came in pink)

So home I went with my fabric and super sharp scissors. Laid out a new drop cloth on the ground and started cutting. I'll make a new thread and pics later this week...

If you want accurate cuts you need to pull a thread and use the resulting line as a guide.
