Sub installation

I dont know if I am posting this in the good place, but I got a little problem with my sub and I dont know what exactly is the problem! If somebody could help me, it would be greatly appreciated!

Okay so I a quite a newbie in sub and sub installation in cars, so I asked my friend to help me install it...It worked great at the beginning but then It started to go on and off, we figured it was the ground that wasnt stable, so we switched it to someplace else... but then When I tried it again, it still woulnt work. We remarked that my amp wasnt going on ( No green light like it used to have ) theres just no light at all... So my friend told me it might be the fuse of the amp, so I took it out and looked at it...Its not broken or anything but its a little dark at some places....Could this be the problem of my amp not turning on? I looked at the wire installations and everything looks good!

So is it the fuse or can it be someting else?

Thanks for the responses!

How are you connecting the 12V+? I'm hoping it's a direct connect to the battery with an inline fuse. Second thing to check is the 12V signaling wire. Is it getting a good signal with sufficient amperage for the amp? What model amp do you have? With everything other than the power cables and 12V signaling wire connected does it turn on? How are you connecting the ground? Make sure you are connecting to bare metal (as in not painted) that is also connected to ground.

You may get better responses in a car audio forum.
