Newegg- Denon authorized dealer?

Can someone confirm that Newegg is Denon authorized dealer? If so what the source to confirm this? Denon website does not list Newegg but from reading the Denon XX12 owner thread, it states Newegg just became authorized Nov 2011. Thanks.

You can confirm yourself ... as I did .. by simply calling Denon Customer Service and asking them.

I just did and the lady at Denon said 'No, Newegg is not authorized dealer'. Am confused.

Hello,
Newegg is an Authorized Dealer for everything that they sell. The CSR you spoke to was probably looking at Brick & Mortar Dealers as opposed to Authorized Online Merchants. Newegg is an Authorized Dealer.
Cheers,

Denon takes some time to update their website .. only recently adding Accessories4Less as an authorized refurb reseller yet they have been authorized since Oct 1.

From a newegg.com chat:

Sophie: We are indeed an authorized denon dealer so that we can post their products on our website. All our products are from the manufacturers directly and we will never sell gray market products.

Electronics Expo will likely match any Newegg sale .... having matched the last two Denon weekend sales.

I didn't buy Sat and called them (Electronic Expo) Sunday for a price match. They wouldn't match price for 2 reasons.

1) They stated Newegg isn't an authorized distributor of Denon.

I believe they are and this will resolve itself.

2) At the time I phoned in Newegg was out of stock so they were unwilling to match the price of a limited availability item that was no longer available.

Next time I'll just pull the trigger through Newegg when I have the opportunity. They say they'll beat an advertised price but they clearly don't want to sell it at that price point and will do what they can to avoid it.

As it seems in both Denon's case and EE's case ... just depends on which sales/CS rep you speak to. I called EE as well and the rep said they would match Newegg's price as long as the item is in stock ...which makes sense ... why would they match a lower price when the item isn't available at that lower price?

The in stock part is fine. I called 10 mins to late Sat and underestimated how fast they would sell out @ Newegg. Had it in my cart too next time I won't hesitate.

Newegg has alreally put the 4311 onsale 3 times so its a good guess it will be a frequent sale item like the onkyo 809. You just need to wait a week or two. Well worth wait for the savings, and no begging needed..

Thanks guys. Feel much better now after ordering the 2112 over the weekend.

In Electronics-Expo's defense, they price matched Newegg for me post purchase on a Yamaha A800. They even refunded me more than required as I would have to pay sales tax to Newegg and made that clear to them. EE website says to take a screen shot of the sale item and send it with a URL to their CS email which I did.

Denon needs to update their page to show Newegg is a dealer.

I will also call Denon today if I get home early enough from work.
I'm hoping they are a authorized dealer. Hopefuuly more people will call and get conformation.
If they are, I sure hope they add them to the e-tailor list quick to help others avoid all this worry.

Last month both Newegg and a Denon rep confirmed that Newegg was an authorized reseller, apparently purchasing product through another authorized reseller so I posted that information in this forum. With the recent posts of Denon CSRs indicating that Newegg is in fact not authorized, I made some calls yesterday to both Denon and Newegg. A Newegg supervisor again assured me they were indeed authorized to sell Denon AVRs and that they would assist with any warranty issues when dealing with Denon. I noted the incorrect 2 year warranty listing on their 2112CI webpage, which apparently was just an oversight, thinking all Denon AVRs had 2 year warranties. I then called Denon CS with one rep saying, "not authorized" and another saying "I heard something about them being authorized but not sure" so I emailed the Denon CS Manager who although initially indicated they were authorized, later in the afternoon came back and replied they are not authorized.

Edit: Final resolution - Newegg is NOT an authorized reseller.

Going forward; however, until Newegg is able to establish itself as an authorized Denon reseller and is recognized by Denon as such, I would suggest to continue using the known authorized resellers (eg. Electronics Expo, AV Science, J&R, etc.).

Newegg only became an authorized Yamaha dealer sometime last year, despite passing themselves off as one for years, and they aren't an authorized Pioneer dealer. I know some other brands they claim to be (like Nikon) but in reality they aren't.

NewEgg just recently ran a sale on the AVR-4311 and before I plunked down the money, I wanted to verify that NewEgg is an authorized Denon dealer. In the process of searching that topic, I ran across this thread. There seem to be as many posts stating NewEgg is a valid Denon dealer as there are saying they are not.

Therefore, I submitted the question to Denon and the response I received on 2/7/2012 was:

Subject

is NewEgg an authorized dealer

Hi Warren,

NewEgg is not an authorized Denon etailer. If you would like to have a warranty on your product be sure to purchase from one of the authorized Denon etailers at the following link.
(I had to delete the link in order to post this message to AVS, but it is the standard e-tailer link)

Thank you,

I also asked them how so much of their product ends up in the hands of unauthorized sellers, but they declined to answer that. In my opinion, that is really the core issue. I presume that Denon deliberately exploits or encourages these so-called unauthorized distributors. Otherwise, the implication is that they have no control of their own factories or distribution centers, which I seriously doubt is the case.

It has been noted in numerous Denon threads that Newegg is NOT an authorized Denon reseller.

Call Electronic Expo and from most folks here, they match NE price-$1249 is a great deal.
