Trailer released and already it looks 10x better than the first one.

Omg.... that .... actually ....looks....

..pretty good!

I'm shocked. Sweet trailer!

What the fruit...is this Kill bill vol 3 or what? that sd it does look good and so glad to see the Dwayne the rock in more action movies. He's like bacon, goes good with everything. Slight bummer the hotness that is Sienna miller is not back for this one.

Can't believe there is a sequel...considering how horrible the first one was.
Man, THAT was a stinker!
It was only the last 5 seconds that got my attention of this trailer.

I only bought the first to se how bad it was, but it was worse then that.
This trailer doesn't do much for me. Except confirm that I don't want to see it (which the first movie did pretty convincingly already).

I just learned of this release date being moved to 2013. Not sure I'm buying the 3D story. More like, this summers competition being too strong for what they hope to earn.

After watching John Carter and Battleship bomb, it is evident that Paramount has little faith that their new G.I.Joe movie will do any better.

So convert it to 3D to get more BO take and release it in March 2013 when there are very few "summer action movies" released.
Not that I had expectations of this being a great movie by any stretch but a fun little diversion for sure. Doesn't sound like they're confident of even that.

It is getting better all the time. The best results require lots of time and money. TITANIC took a year and cost $18 million.

There's plenty of post-conversion even in movies "shot in 3D", like 'Avatar' and 'Transformers: Dark of the Moon' (TF3 was about 47% to 52% post-converted).

Ill definite see this on blu when released.

Apparently, the movie test-screened horribly:

To be honest, though, some of the complaints (like that Channing Tatum is killed off early and the sequel has little connection to the first film) sound like big positives to me.

Knew this was the case when I first read about pushing back the schedule. Frankly, if it's that bad, why bother with a new date at all. Take the time to do it right. What's a few extra months?

Also, regarding Tatum, I want to like the guy but how in the world does he get cast as Duke? There is absolutely nothing believable about him leading a special forces unit of any kind.

There's nothing believable about him being a leading man of any kind, regardless of what the movie is about.

Nah...Fast and Furious 9 might work.

The Real Reasons Why G.I. JOE: RETALIATION Was Delayed

More Tatum? All of this seemingly for him? What are they seeing that I'm not? I saw The Vow and actually thought it was a decent movie and he did a decent if not good job. But an action star he is not. Possibly in a supporting situation but even that's a stretch to me. The Rock struggles in action films as well. As odd a play as I thought it was for this movie, Bruce Willis is the only bonafide action star in it and they hardly seem to be leveraging him. Go back and reshoot more scenes with him for crying out loud.

Last post almost a year ago. Where's the love?tongue.gif We saw this in 3D last weekend. I lobbied for Jurassic Park at the IMAX 3D. But everyone wanted to see a movie they hadn't seen before.rolleyes.gif Just couldn't get into this. I will admit the 3D battle on the mountain was pretty cool as well as London getting blowed up. biggrin.gif Lady Jaye was smokin' hot. Overall I give it a 2/5. Will give this another chance when it comes out on blu.

Movie is a quantum leap improvement over the first one. Still pretty "Meh." It does leave open hope for sequels to improve further, however.

Haven't seen "Retaliation" yet but I agree about Tatum 1000%. I saw The Vow as well and I thought he did a borderline great job with that role. And as silly as 21 Jump Street was I also thought that suited him much better than any action role that I can think of supporting or otherwise. I don't say this as a knock against the guy, I just don't think action is his genre. And as odd as it seems given his background, I feel the same way about The Rock. For whatever reason these guys just can't translate into action stars. The only exception I could see for both would be an action spoof/comedy kind of thing like....ugh...name of movie escapes me with Robert DiNiro and Eddie Murphy.

I don't think these two actors have ever wrorked together. confused.gif

Anyway, nobody could have possibly hated Channing Tatum more after than first G.I. Joe movie than me. I've warmed to him quite a bit since 21 Jump Street, however. He's loosened up considerably as an actor. He and The Rock have pretty good chemistry in this one, and Tatum isn't really in the movie long enough to have much of an "action" role.

Showtime is the name of the movie. Don't know why that all of a sudden popped in my head. It's a movie about a two cops that are being made into reality tv stars. DiNiro is the hardnosed experienced detective and Murphy is a (patrolman I think) who wants to be a movie star or something like that. It's been a while since I've seen it and even then it was limited viewing on tv while I was busy with laundry or something. Anyway, it was an action comedy flick.

Christ Almighty Lord this was HORRID crap of film making if I ever saw one. Now unlike most of you, I thought the 1st one was not bad at all so I really thought this was going to be pretty good going by the trailer.

Nope, what you saw in the trailer is the absolute best from this garbage. Nothing was working, dumb stupid confusing plot, really bad dialing it in acting from the main guys Channing and The Rock. It was just dumb and dumber and boring, and what pissed me of most was all these MASKED ninja's: white, red, black I had no idea WTF who was who, who was good or bad.

Then right after I got done with this, I saw an EP daily on REELZ where they were interviewing the Dir John Chu and I was like...WTF are you $hitting me with this BS? this guy looked like 15 yrs old, so they gave this 100 mil+ budget action to some stupid rookie who just finished film school? Is that what Hollywood has reduced too? finding cheap ass creative labor over seas to direct big action movies now cause they don't want to spend money for a decent one? This guy looked like he can't direct a Burger King commercial.

I don't see how it could possibly be worst than the first one, but thanx for saving me a watch.wink.gif

Totally agree with this. I could not even tell what was going on in the fights. Everything was in close up frantic mode at all times. Makes the first one look like a masterpiece. When I saw Rza I knew it was doomed.

Well I guess if both are in the same movie that will be the 7th sign of the Apocalypse.
