YSP2200 or Cinemate II

Dear folks,

i just recently purchased a bnib cinemate II for 430$, it's quite good, simple and clean. Now I can get a set of cinemate II GS for for 510$ or Yamaha YSP2200 for 850$. I'm hesitating if i should return the CMII and get the CMII GS or the YSP2200 instead. As the ysp2200 is double the price than the CMII, is it worth..

any comments?

Got the ysp2200 tonight, auto setup, watch 300, the 7.1 is quite good. But the bass is not as good as Bose. The sourrond effect is ok. I tested the GS and the SR1 (1600$) at bestbuy. Honestly they are really stunning at the kiosk, I kept convincing myself that kiosk source is totally optimized for Bose. I'm still hesitating the GS model for 510$. My wife just saw the Yamaha, she finds it ugly in front of the NX720.

I agree the ysp may be worth, but its price is double than the bose, which everybody find it overpriced.

The 2200 can be purchased for a little over $500 from a reputable, authorized dealer. I pulled the trigger on one recently. At that price, it might be a no-brainer.

You might be outside of your return window right now, but if you're not, I'd be more than happy to let you know where I purchased mine.

We just purchased a Yamaha YSP-2200 from Future shop.Canadian retailer partner company to Best Buy.

The store had 1 left in stock which was a open box item. The same day someone returned it as they were trying to run the 2200 threw a HDMI switcher

Opening the box nothing was missing every thing was OK.Now time for a deal.
The shelf sale price was 799.99

We found one on Amazon which also comes with a Iphone-Pod dock for 699.With this we had a price set and made a deal with the sale person 750 with the 110.00 dock included

Set up simple and the space we gained.
I must say I had to replace my beloved HT8i 3way speakers

I just had to sell them with 2 large woofers walking the floors I needed the space.Still have my theater room for serious listening. So I wanted a good sound bar that would make myself and wife happy just for the odd show we watch without our large HT.

Now the sound bar no comparison to what we have had in the past. But the sound is good for our limitations now wondering the floors 97lbs each woofer.

Our room is safe and everyone is happy as far as sound.
Ya the shelf woofer does not compare to the 25hz the HT8i could put out BUT we will survive NOW with the Yamaha YSP-2200

I will take a few photos tomorrow.
