Yeah, at first I was thinking I didn't want to mess with it and was hoping there was someone local, but it was only 32 bucks to ship if from KC to Ohio so no big deal at all.

In other news I just bought 2 gallons of Duratex! smile.gif

I didn't see his post stating that he needed a sample or I would have sent him one. I have 4 of the SIs sitting around collecting dust right now until I find a use for them. cool.gif

2 gallons of Duratex? You should have NO problem finishing 8 cabinets with ~1 gallon. 2 gallons will take you a LONG way. I did 3 coats on 4 of my dual opposed cabs and still have 1/3 of the 1 gallon container left. biggrin.gif

Hmm... yeah but 8 singles would have a lot more surface area than 4 dual opposed right, since they are more than half the size? However you still had 1/3 left after all 4...

Kevin did his one dual oppposed box and his 3 SEOS speakers and I think he said he had half a gallon left if I remember right.

It took less than a half gallon to cover two 40x14.5x14 and one 30x14x9 cabinets with 3 coats each.

I think there's only 4 people total that have wanted the Statements. smile.gif

The set up and designs fees would likely cost as much as the cabinets if I only had 5-10 made up. If there was more interest, I'd do it.


The SI subwoofer came today. So boxes for those will be done with the Dayton 18" model. The first batch is likely going to go quickly, so you might not want to wait around. I think 2 guys have already asked for 8 each.

I'm having a hard time finding a perfect packaging box for these, so the box is going to be fairly big and I'll have to cut them down myself.

I was rushing that morning trying to get my 2 very young kids in the car and I didn't put one of the styrofoam pieces that holds the driver in place. I didn't notice my mistake until the next day when I was walking through the room and I saw the styrofoam. That was not a great feeling seeing that.

If you mean text to my phone.....I'm not even sure I would get it. I have an old cell phone......doesn't even have a camera. I'm not even sure how to send a text!

I just checked my PM's here and saw that you sent one. I've been getting a decent amount lately, and the new site has them showing more as 'conversations'. So when I saw yours, I thought it was just the previous message you sent giving me the tracking number.

The box looked to be in good shape, so I doubt there's any problems. I didn't get a chance to open it yet, but it looked okay. Have no fear, I'll package it well for the return home. biggrin.gif

Yes I have, but, I don't believe that they offer a flat pack for the Statements, according to their website. They do offer kits, with everything needed for the build, with the exception of the cabinets. They also supply a pretty nice and well laid out cut list, but for myself having never really used a saw, I would prefer to purchase a flat pack.


Erich, I am just curious as to how much it would cost to get a design made for the CNC machine, for the Statements? I have received several PM's from folks who said they would be willing to chip in. If the cost isn't too outrageous then perhaps we could look into this?

What happens in chapter two?

It's not quite as smooth as that. biggrin.gif The past month has certainly been tough getting everything flowing properly. Once the kits are figured out, and packaging is figured out, it's not too hard packaging a few things each day. But when all those SEOS kits were done around the same time, it was pretty tough keeping things organized. Actually really tough. But the good thing is....there's not much of anything to do during the winter for a landscape company. Usually I'm not doing much of anything, so this is actually more fun than past years.

Last week and some of this week one of my friends helped me clean up the area where I store the stuff at. Things are better organized now and should flow much easier.

Chapter 2? Well I don't really know. I'd say I'm about maxxed out for what I can currently do once the sub boxes are going smoothly. They could be the breaking point! biggrin.gif So who knows what happens after all of that. I only really hang out on the AVS forum, so even though there's a lot of kits, not very many people actually know they exist. And it's not very hard to just drive up to PE, pick things up and package them with some flat packs.

I've got some in now, but not all of them. The rest will be delivered Monday.

Because they're not a square cube, I need to order some different shipping boxes from Uline. The local packaging supply company will probably have some boxes that I can pick up temporarily though.
