I don't believe this is an issue as much on the GT30.

The VT30 does have some particular grayscale behavior as well as some color decoding issues in terms of x, y plotting - at certain IREs if I recall (it's been a while since I read up on the issue and I not sure if there were updates.).

If you're seeing incorrect color on some channels but not others, that's an issue with the channels, not the TV. Some of my local OTA channels have pretty accurate colors, but when i change to other channels the colors are off. It's this way on every TV i've ever had (and have).

The fitness of the product is not warranted to provide perfect color decoding. The "flawed" 2011 Panasonics have the ability to provide more than accurate enough color to satisfy the vast, vast majority of customers.

For recourse, you need something flawed that you could theoretically show regular people (like Samsung's peeling filters from earlier in the year). You are not getting "recourse" from relatively minor color-decoding errors.

Man, this thread has been seriously corrupted by just about everything except the topic of "2012 Panasonic Plasmas." Maybe there is just not enough action to keep crickets from chirping w/o creeping back to 2011. What happened to good 'ol bitching about how much the new units are gonna cost, how you aren't gonna buy in 2012 because "they haven't made any improvements, etc?

I'm not gonna buy a 2012 Panny at theses high prices, because they haven't made enough improvements for my money!

I was just offered a 65ST30 for under $1700, delivered. Trying to figure out if that deal is as good as it seems. Based on these HDguru MSRPs, it seems prices are trending slightly upward?

Sometimes supply starts to dry up right before new models are rolled out causing prices of existing models to actually go higher.

Panasonic MSRPs are trending downwards.

Street prices will trend upwards because newer models are replacing deeply discounted closeout models.

This happens every year.

I will be selling my Pioneer Elite Pro151 and purchasing the 65vt50. Yes, You read that correctly. I also have a 65vt25 and prefer that over the 151.

No. I rarely if ever watch 3D. I prefer the brighter picture of the Panny.
Both are calibrated and the Panny is just more enjoyable to watch for me.

Well, I'm seriously considering one, and checking this thread every few days to see if anyone's posted about availability/reviews/impressions. I'm sure once they start to turn up in various places, people will start talking about them again.

The one thing I'm really curious about is motion artifacting, which is what held me back from getting a 2011 model. I looked at them in stores and liked the picture and price but the motion artifacting was just very noticeable to me. I know stores don't ever have the best setups so I read some reviews afterwards and they confirmed what I saw, but at least one or two said it was basically unique to the 2011 models and hadn't been seen in previous models.
