I might be the only one here who still cares, but Alan Wake is scheduled for a PC release in the first quarter of next year.

It's a great game; it was probably my game of the year last year... but at this point, with it being $20 on the 360, a nearly two year old, full-priced PC game is probably going to be a tough sell.

Agreed. Excellent game, loved it although it starts off a bit rough. But its too late for pc unless it's 20 bucks

As I don't own an Xbox any more it's worth the cost to get it. I've been wanting this game for years, glad to see it's finally coming to the PC.

$20? I payed $6 2mos ago for a XBOX Live d/l code off Amazon. It was a fun, but short experience. Worth the $6 I guess. I don't see myself buying it again for the PC (not unless it's like $2 on Steam or something).

Eventually it will hit $5 on Steam. Then, I'll prolly get it.

I really enjoyed it, but even with the dlc included, it would be hard to justify paying full price for the pc version. Maybe if it's released at a $30 or $40 price point, it will do ok with sales.

The really sad part is that this game was originally going to be released on the pc along with the Xbox version, but then it was dropped. I bet they had the pc version already finished too and now are getting the dlc ported over. Thanks to publishers hating the pc, this game will have crap sales on the pc when they could have had decent to good sales instead. And of course this will be used as another reason to avoid making pc games.

i was always interested in the game but since I don,t own a 360, I didn't play it.

It got different reviews so I'll wait for a steam sale before picking it up cheap

I'll pick this game when I have more time and when it will be at around 5$

Was interested in the 360 version but don,t have one. Good thing I didn't buy one just for that (and Forza)

I'm not going to start playing this game until I finish building my new rig. I now just need an i7-3820 CPU and a Kepler GPU.

Initial reports for this version of the game look encouraging. Textures and lighting look to be of very high quality.

On neo-gaf they have this one thread where people post screenshots of various games, and I was checking out that thread and saw a bunch of screenshots of Alan Wake running on the PC. It seems much improved from the 360 version. My backlog is absolute overflowing at the moment, so I'll pass on this till it becomes ridiculous not to buy it, but man... those screenshots look pretty damn nice...

From the review I read and the screenshots I saw, the PC version doesn't seem like a simple port but more like an upgraded version. The graphic difference is impressive
post #17 of 22
They put in a FoV slider and MSAA support for the PC version. A lot of PC games don't even have those.

While it's certainly better than the 360 version the graphics are nothing to get excited over, it still looks dated.

Great game however once it really gets rolling.

I'm reading about foliage pop-in at a relatively short distance, like fill-in foliage not 'all foliage' but the screens look great......any idea how it runs?
It runs smooth for me @ 1080p on an OC'd 6970, all settings maxed.

I will eventually buy it someday. Reason being they made it Eyefinity compatible unlike certain games i have ~cough~ Skyrim ~cough~.
