Yamaha RX-A1000 vs RX-A1010

I have read just about every post in the long thread on the 1000/2000/3000 as well as the shorter 1010/2010/3010 thread and my head is spinning.

I have a chance to get a good deal on an RX-A1000 (limited time offer, naturally) and I'm wondering what I'd be giving up vs. the 1010 (I'm in Canada, so wicked deals on a 2000 or 3000, sadly, do not appear to be on my horizon).

I know what I'm losing by not getting a 2000/2010 or 3000/3010 but with respect to the 1000/1010 differences, I'd like to know if I'm missing anything important:

1000 means no iPod/iPhone use via USB (can live with that)
1000 means 5 fewer watts per channel (irrelevant to me)
1000 means ???

Am I missing anything major?

For some reason the A1000 benches a lot worse than the A2000 in terms of power output even though they both (allegedly) share the same 620VA transformer...Don't know if there's some kind of software power limiter...maybe they just played with that on the 1010 to get some more watts?

A1000: 121W x 2 (8 ohms), 178W x 2 (4 ohms)
A2000: 171W x 2 (8 ohms), 236W x 2 (4 ohms)

It looks like ipod input and slightly heavier is the only thing I can tell...

How "good" is this deal? The RX-A3000 is only $900 on newegg right now

Won't ship to Canada (I don't think), plus warranties are not usually honoured outside the country in which the item is purchased.

Good question. I may have seen the same deal on brand new A1000...
