I appreciate the expertise offered here at AVS, and am looking for some guidance on how to accomplish what I am looking to do:
Objective: Stream lossless audio from my personal collection to my receivers (Pioneer VSX-21, Pioneer VSX-1021), by control through a touchpad device.
I am not limited to a certain codec (I will be re-ripping everything). I'd prefer to be cloud based; however, I have not found a solution for lossless audio via the cloud (maybe Amazon, but pricey?). I am happy to go local, I have extra pc's I can use, and stow in my equipment cabinet (right where both receivers are). I would also like to be able to use Pandora, etc. for parties that might prefer music other than what I can offer locally.
I do NOT want to be forced to have the TV on to make the selection, only the touchpad (iOS, or Android is fine with me).
Current equipment:
Living Room:
Pioneer VSX-21 (7.1 Channel)
Oppo BDP-83 (used for DLNA, but not happy about the integration, sloppy).
XBox 360
Motorola QIP-7216
Bed Room:
Pioneer VSX-1021 (only run a 2 channel system in bed room)
Motorola QIP-7216
RCA-out of Oppo BDP-83
Control devices:
Android - Motorola Droid 1 (no longer used for phone), Droid 3 (current).
Apple - iPhone 3G (jailbroke, no longer used for phone), iPhone 4 (current).
I am happy to spend what is necessary to get this accomplished, but Sonos type money is more than I would like to spend. Plan on buying a tablet to control my whole system via iRule (for iOS or Android), and want this to be the main selector of music.
Would really appreciate some quality input.
