If I was just now starting to research this player, I would stay far away based on all the issues brought up in here. So I wonder how many others stay away also?
Now, if they had just spend more time fine-tuning the firmware, and actually testing various framerates with various file types, try copying data back and forth, actually connect the player to a 3D tv and see that the image is off-center, etc - how many of these issues could have been avoided? If this player wasn't riddled with these serious bugs, I would be singing its praises, and telling everyone I know how amazing it is. I have a friend who is in the market for a player, and he has been watching what has been going on with this player since I got my first unit - and there's no way he is interested in this player due to all the issues.
When will companies ever learn? I still have hopes that this player will eventually get polished off but unfortunately by then the damage is done - lots of bad word of mouth on this player and all the other 1186 players also has pretty much sabotaged the whole 1186 chip release. I know it's partly realtek's fault but it's obvious many if not all of these issues can be fixed by firmware, so many of these issues never should have seen the light of day by the time they were made available to us.
Why is the paying public being treated as beta-testers for hardware and firmware?
You want a cheap media player 100% no annoying startup problems and cheap.
panasonic bdt220 / 320 or the 500 model
yes its a blu-ray player , with stunning image, fabulous sound, most movies ready to watch/play in 40 seconds, did i mention cheap

micca still is one of the most stable players on the market doing 3D and 2D, if you are not happy with the performance why dont you sell it or return it???
have being a few months, i see you around mocking on this player, if you are so picky with stuff, even the littles one, haven't you realise that, all media players on market have inferior image or sound and few more bugs compared with a cheap 100$ blu-ray player, is it so difficult to understand that?
most of the media player mass market use the internet has their personnel library , put on top a few hudreads of illegal donwloaded movies, a thousand tv shows , a few thousands of illegal musics , with crap image and distorted sound, and lets blame the media player.
there no point or sense of having a home theather like this :
800$ av receiver
2000$ 5.1 speakers
and a 150$ media player
