There isn't much to find on the Micca from the network with only the default settings. I sometimes go into the File Manager tab in the Micca and choose the Network to find my Windows shares. Then I can copy files from the Windows shares to the Micca or play them directly with the Micca. That is much better than choosing the UPNP to find the DLNA files because those files cannot be transferred from the DLNA server to the Micca and can only be played.
Transferring files across the network is fairly reliable yet very slow. A faster way is to use the USB port in the back of the Micca to connect to your Windows machine showing the Micca as a USB storage device. The disadvantage with that is problems with compatibility because the Micca writes to the NTFS disk in a way Windows doesn't like so Windows always has to complain and check the filesystem. So I think the best way is to use an external USB disk to connect to the Micca with the two USB host ports on the side of the Micca. The files still transfer much faster than across the network and do not cause the complaints without Windows getting involved.
I think the Micca has the Samba file server in some versions of the firmware. I don't really know what to do to find the Micca shares from Windows. Maybe somebody who uses the Micca to serve shares could help.

I'm currently transferring everything from my external HD to the micca internal, but that process has taken just about 24 hours so far (still going). I was just hoping to avoid unplugging either the micca or my external HD every time I want to transfer a movie over. I'll try your file manager method and see if that works for me.
Thanks for the help.
EDIT: Last night after pulling the power cord and resetting the micca it showed up in my network and I was able to access the HD from my PC. Today I turn it on and I can't get it to show up in the network again. Frustrating to say the least.
