Grand Canyon Adventure: River At Risk
The only thing about IMAX films are the visual and aural treat. The narratives and staged "non-acting" human bits are the weak links in just about all of them. GC: RAR does bring up some very important issues about fresh water resources fast becoming threatened. It's our lifeblood and we're ruining it.
The 3D quality and soundtrack are exceptional and even better than Avatar
(which lacks in the bass department and most of the 3D is simulated via computers rather than dual camera rigs, which were only used for live action elements) for a more realistic stereoscopic experience.
The DP's at IMAX have been shooting in dual camera 70mm for years and have pretty much perfected live-action 3D cinematography. Most Hollywood DP's are still very wet behind the ears and it shows.Tangled
3D is also good and a fun romp for all ages. PQ is superb. Toy Story 1-3
are a bit more subtle with the 3D effect, but I really love those films. You can't go wrong with Woody 'n' Buzz.
