I have been able to get lots of great tips from this forum over the years, hopefully someone can spot my error and assist:
I have the Samsung BD-P3600 Blu-Ray player connected via optical cable to a Yamaha HTR-6050. I am not getting dolby surround sound out of the receiver. On the front of the receiver, there are lights indicating how many channels are active. They call it "Input channel and speaker indicators". They only indicate the Left and Right channels.
I am confident that the receiver is handling surround correctly for out of both my older Motorola and Cisco Cox cable boxes, I am getting surround. On the face of the receiver, these indicators are all on (L, R, Surround, LFE) and I appear to have surround.
Any ideas? Would using the multi-channel inputs (5-7 RCA style conections) do the trick?
Thanks!
Stephen
