Wow, $450 for a x50 card. They're a hundo high on both of their 7900 models. All I can think is that they'll keep the prices high until the NVidia comes out with better performance at similar pricing and then drop pricing dramatically. Y'know, I'd like it to be less too, but contrary to popular belief, AMD is supposed to try to make a profit. When supplies are low anyway, and they can't even keep up with demand, it would be economic idiocy to price the card even lower to try to increase demand. When yields increase and they start having a significant number of cards sitting in inventory, then it might be time to try to increase demand by lowering the price a bit. The performance is about on par with a 580 though (higher in some games, lower in others), with about 1/2 the power usage. So arguably a better card then the 580 for a few bucks less. It seems like it's priced appropriately for it's slot in the market.
Hopefully, Nvidia's card will offer even more performance at the same price point when it comes out, which would cause AMD to drop their prices to maintain demand. I wish Kepler would come out sooner though.
