I think they all claim to block the red and white flash, but there are wide variances as to the actual performance of the glasses.

The ZD201's are ~$100 and are the first pick to match with the W7000. The less expensive True Depth 3D's are the 2nd pick due to comfort (large lenses for prescription glasses) and very good ability to block the red flash.

Well first time turning on the w7000 since receiving it yesterday. I'm impressed first DLP and wow what a pic this is 2D mode no glasses yet. I prefer standard mode user1 tho bright gives the picture that LED look fake if you all know what I mean. Not as film like like my SXBR Sony but very good. Blacks aren't too bad not inky but very livable. No 3D yet need galsses, thats next step, also it came with 1.03 firm version.

Just had that happen for the first time today. My Panasonic player was not sending the 3d picture correctly and i had to restart it among other things to fix the issue. Thanks for the BC tip. How often does it happen for you? I wonder what triggers it.

rob47v I like standard as well, but did switch to cinema because it does have more of a film look and is only about 100 lumens less so similar brightness, too.

Zombie10k, for me the ZD201s tend to fall off which is why they hurt as I cram them on. Not huge deal as have watched only a few 3D movies and may get wraparound connector and performance very good. Do see the True Depths have bigger lenses which would be nice for my prescription glasses. But (for bigger heads) do the hooks at the end help keep them on the ears better than the ZD201s? And are the arms longer to get around the ears?

Also still have v1.0 which pretty happy, but certainly can see rolling credits especially could be sharper with v1.03. As all projectors amazingly require sending back (no firmware download), am very concerned about getting a new unit with a noisy DI or other issues. Am on top of mine and cannot hear DI or fan with normal movie sound levels, so other than non-inky blacks (walls eggshell white so not helping it, though) generally very happy with my unit. Are downloads coming or is it possible to get same unit back with v1.03 as far as you know?

I just had my firmware updated. I got an RMA number, drove to the local service place and dropped it off, the next day they called and said it was ready and I picked it up again. Certainly the same unit.

Of course that was in Toronto which happens to be where the Canadian service is done. I would still think they just update the firmware on the unit you send them. Otherwise they end up with another used unit, and why would they want that?

What does Baud rate mean and what does it do? I also has to turn off the BC due to to making odd blochie pink spots on people with light to pink skin tones.

Well just ceiling mounted the w7000 and got to play with it a bit more I noticed that first it requires quite a back setting to fill my 120" screen book says 14'.14 min well I'm at 15' and still need to go back 2' more, also during playback of the pirates of the caribbean the second one that is the image tends to wiggle on the outter edges of the pic. and I do mean the very edge. Can someone confirm if this is normal or if there is a setting to correct such issue. Aside from that it plays great very pleased!!!!

I just ordered my 5th w7000 pj.

1st - iris shutting intermittently on Dead Space 2 and there was an occasional split line down middle on 3D.

2nd - same as above

3rd - very loud grinding noise from fan. Mailed it back that same night. Not sure if other issues were there.

4th - apparently it is Amazon policy to only allow 3 replacements. I haggled and talked to a supervisor and finally got them to send me a 4th.
This one I had for just 48 hours. The color wheel made a loud whir sound in dynamic mode.

5th - contacted BenQ about the color wheel whir and they're going to send me a replacement since the Amazon bridge is burned. BenQ was very helpful. Didn't even ask for proof of purchase.

This is really concerning, according to the official Benq W7000 manual ftp://downloads.benq.net/user_manuals/projectors/english/w7000.pdf 120" screen min distance with max zoom should be 14.137'. Please let us know what your final distance was for the 120" screen. I am considering this projector for a small room and can only fit a 92" due to throw distance. This would be a big game changer for me. I already have a home theater but was considering making a media room and using this projector for mainly for 3d.

I notice when 3d mode is triggered sometimes I will see the red dlp link flash start up on one half of the screen and then the other. I think something just triggers incorrectly every now and then (seems like 30% of the time) on one side during this 3d activation period. The fact that I can fix it by switching BC off and on is enough for me to ignore the issue.

I got it for $1950 and there really isn't anything out there that is comprable. The 3D is great. 2D is good enough.

The True Depth 3D glasses are larger and better suited for those with prescription glasses.

If you send back your W7000, they are going to flash your specific unit and return it. I wouldn't be concerned with getting a different model based on several members experience. It's definitely worth it, much sharper with 1.03.

The rt and lt outer edges of the image wiggling almost seams as if the image is refreshing. Is there such a thing? seams most evident during fast moving images. What is it does anyone know?

is it true BENQ W7000 projector consume 473W which i believe is a lot so it normal for this projector to consume so much power?

Benq's specs say 416W. It does take some power to generate enough light to light up a large screen. How much power do you think a 100 or 120 inch LCD would take?

I know I can't wait for answers so I did some investigating of my own on the outer edge distortion. Well it seams that when any setting being low to high of frame interpolation the distortion happens, turn the system off meaning the frame interpolation it goes away. Anyway thats what i've found.

Received my Darbee today, I have it at 45% and high def. I'm definitely happy with it and this projector. It gives it a tad bit extra pop and sharpness and really brings the detail out in the picture.

Zombie10k, do you use yours with any sharpness setting on the w7000? It seems I like mine still with a sharpness of 2 on the w7000 and Darbee at 45%.

same here, I believe I have it set to 2 and the Darbee @ 30-40% depending on the content. It looks great with 3D content.

Although I haven't seen used in a projector, judging by the screenshots I like the look of the Darbee's processing. However, people have to be careful not to crank up the Darbee too much because it starts to look unnatural after 50% it seems. So definitely I would play around with it from 20% up to 45% High Def mode, but anything higher than 50% is a bit too much IMO. Mike and Zombie, you guys are ok! smile.gif Subtle differences are better than a drastic change to the picture IMO.

I receive my replacement from BenQ tomorrow. They were very accommodating. Sent me an overnight label by email for my return and they are now overnighting me a new one after inspecting it today. This is projector #5. So fIngers crossed.
