It got worse today when my son was playing call of duty on the PS3 definetley would go to black after a bright scene. He could make it happpen at will with a big explosion. The picture wouldn't reset until he pressed the PS button. I thought maybe it had something to do with teh iris so I went into the menu and turned dynamic black off. Screen turned black and wouldn't go back. You could still hear audio. I checked all the connections and they were fine.
Ideas?

RMA

Does anyone or has anyone figured out a hush box type solution or something that deals with the high pitched, screeching, whinny iris? other than turning it off.

That's what I thought / was afraid of. Just went through the Epson 8350 refurb run around and had to return 5 of them before they gave me a refund. Bought the W7000 hoping it would be trouble free but apparently not.

contact BQ support, they are very good at handling warranty issues. Mine has been solid for about 7 months now.

Does anyone know when your watching 3D is it 120hz or 144hz? The Benq w7000 seems more fluid in 3D than my JVC RS40 ever did at 120hz. I do notice some flickering when I look at a lamp or other light source but it seems less than when I used my JVC glasses.
One thing is for sure, I see no ghosting at all with the Benq W7000. I can't wait to see what and when Benq does with the W7000 successor!

Wow, I just read all 80 pages of this thread. Thinking about finally upgrading my Sharp XV-Z9000 1st gen HD projector that has servied me well for 10 years. I'm very limited on choices because I want mount it on the ceiling 22.6' from my 133" Draper Targa HDTV screen in Matt White with 1.0 gain. The W7000 seems like it will work better than most for such a long throw. I want it mainly for HDTV and DVD or Bluray. Can anyone think of reason I shouldn't jump on the W7000?

I was going to go to a two projector setup with the w7000 and JVC RS45.
Decided to sell my JVC and only use the w7000. Watching movies less and less these days and watching HDTV and sports mostly. Blacks are nowhere near the 45 but don't need them watching sports. The pop beats blacks anytime when watching sports.

many manufacturers such as Epson & Panasonic...etc already introduced or will soon introducing the successor of their previous year projector, wondering any chances BenQ will do the same for W7000?

I see there is a 7000+ on BenQ's website. Is this the new model? What has changed from the 7000 to the 7000+?

Just figured I'd post here as well to let everyone else know who may be wondering the same.

Got my Darbee, dumb question but just in a few minutes last night of tinkering I couldn't get the little Darbee display off the screen? My true depth glasses arrive today and my new Oppo bdp-103 tomorrow!!! I shall be spending a lot of time in my theater this weekend biggrin.gif

watched avatar 3D last night.. and was quite frankly FLOORED by how amazing it looked on the w7000!... super clear and very bright.. its definitely the showcase for when friends come over to gawk at my set up! (using true depth glasses).

Anybody have any comments about how the W7000 would compare to the Planar PD8150 (which I currently have)? I'd love to gain the 3D capabilities, but I'm not sure if I would miss the PD8150 when it comes to 2D viewing.

Hi,
I'm looking at this pj but i have issues with 3d input lag.

I've owned around 15 3dtv's and all have had added input lag in 3d, makes 3d games abit rubbish, especially car games so.

Would anyboy be able to tell me wether or not the w7000 has alot of added input lag in 3d while gaming?

Thankyou smile.gif

When the picture goes black, can you still see that the lamp is on through the vents. The iris has likely closed completely.
Does this happen all the time, from the moment you turn it on? Or only after it has been running for a while?
My W7000's iris goes wonky like this sometimes. But it only happens after it has been running for an hour or two. And then if I turn the projector off and on the iris works normally again.
It has only happened to me once recently though. It was happening more often a month or two ago. I wonder if it has something to do with heat. (It doesn't happen until the projector gets hot but my room has been cooler this past month.)

Just got my free bulb from BenQ (they had a promo for Canadian customers a while back), and as per AVS Forum advice I read some time ago, I decided to install it right away, even though my original bulb only had about 400 hours on it.

It didn't seem quite as bright as first expected, but that's not the issue. The image seems to flicker occassionally. Roughly speaking, every 15 minutes or so. Not the entire image, but horizontal areas about 1/5 the image area or so. It's like static interference, very quick, like a blink, usually along the lower half of the image.

The casual observer probably wouldn't even notice it, but I hate to think it will get worse over time when the bulb warranty expires.

Does anybody have any ideas about this? Is the bulb defective? Has it been seated improperly? Nothing else has changed in my setup since the new bulb went in...

Question: how are you guys charging your true depth dlp link glasses? Can I use iPhone/iPad chargers? Or my laptop? New Oppo player arrived setting it up...I think the glasses come fully charged?

any POWERED usb charger will do.. that should include any laptop or powered USB hub (which is what i'm using to charge them). i think mine were pretty low when they arrived, i charged them overnight.

The iris is screwed up, like lots of others out there. It's pretty ridiculous IMO.

Today is a different story, I feel like there is a haze or something over the picture. Text like Espn scores etc look blurry. I feel like I can't get it focused or 100% dialed in?? I now have directv running through the hdmi input of the Oppo 103 so I will try it back like it was

ESPN logo looks blurry here. But it's the source not the w7000.
I pull up my Directv hd guide and its sharp as a tack.smile.gif
