Thanks for posting. I wonder how that works.

Not a clue and I doubt they are going to tell.

Well I'm wondering if it is really specific to those three players or if it would work with any player. I know that some people have reported that using plex on samsung blu-ray players that have cinavia detection have got the error popping up.

A little reverse engineering..

Anydvd hd has to be running while playing the cinavia movie.

To me it seems that it tricked the Player to think its the real disc.

That would be my guess, I just don't know how exactly.

Let me get this straight. You used PLEX server to feed an iso to a PLEX client on a Blu-ray Player with Cinavia detection on it but because you have AnyDVD-HD running in the background of the PC hosting the PLEX server that the iso played without killing the audio after 20 minutes?

The new version of any... works fine with TMT5 and TMT6. Power DVD 12 crashes every time whether a cinavia disk image or non cinavia image, but with all the issues I have had with PDVD 11, I am not surprised.

TMT for me if all cinavia disks play without issue.

Long live Any.... rip cinavia!

Discs or BD ISO's?

I store all my disks in iso on my server.

So TMT 6 works with AnyDVD HD for BD ISO's with Cinavia watermark on the audio track?
So it seems. I haven't tested it myself.
I'm downloading TMT6 and the AnyDVD HD beta right now, I'll be testing BDMV rips in a few minutes. I'll report back with my results, but confidence is very high based on others having reported success with this.

AnyDVD HD FTW!!!!!

I don't care what others wanna call it, Cinavia ******* sucks. IMO, it's worse than a virus. Freeware can take care of 99.99999% of viruses (eventually). mad.gif

Guess I can upgrade to TMT6 now...

So far so good!

Interesting, I'm going to have to test this out.

The latest beta + TMT6 = no Cinavia activation for me on my BDMV folder playback. Now, if Arcsoft would get off their asses and fix the driver/DLL problem that adds about a minute to a Windows 8 boot, I'd actually consider updating my HTPC to TMT6.

I just tested a Battle:LA ISO with the encryption removed. I ran it with TMT6 on Win8 without AnyDVD HD running and triggered Cinavia. I then ran it with AnyDVD HD running and it did not trigger Cinavia. It works. NICELY DONE!!! This will definitely ensure the survival of software players. smile.gif

What sucks is I converted the ISOs to MKVs and when I did handbrake the defualt setting left off the commentary track. I listened to them in the interim and heard it so though all was good. Then I found I had left off the audio streams. I went to get my discs and Blood Diamond won't load... so I actually lost part of one movie in this whole snafu. That an now TMT won't even launch for some reason. I don't need it for MKVs, but it is handy sometimes to be able to just stick a disc in and watch, but no more I guess.

edit:

So btw add me to the list of people that Cinavia fubared. It was probably Arcsoft's fault obviously, but I have uninstalled, reinstalled etc... and nothing is fixing it. TMT launcher just sits there hanging and never loads. Pretty annoying. I don't want to have to reinstall windows to fix it. I have to imagine the update fubared the registry or something. Maybe it is simply a problem of codecs who the heck knows, but it is annoying when stuff is just working perfectly and you have to update and screw it all up for more DRM which has a disproportionate impact on legitimate HTPC users.

Thread Starter
I gave up and purchased ($89) a standalone Blu-Ray player for playing my rental discs. Yes, I have to sit through a bunch of crap to get to the movie, but it is better than trying to deal with Cinavia when I just want to watch something. My HTPC is used to play, store, and share my DVD and Blu-Ray ISOs and record Cable TV. Perhaps the new AnyDVD HD will help when I want to pop in a Cinavia protected disc into my HTPC, but it seems there is always something about Windows, TMT, or Cinavia that screws up my "experience".

Been running AnyDVD HD for a while now. Got hit with Cinavia on TMT5 starting with Amazing Spiderman. Switched to MPC-HC and it works great (except for movies where the director's commentary track is larger than the main movie and MPC mistakes it for the main movie).

Just updated to TMT6 from TMT5 for $10.

TMT6 + AnyDVD HD (latest version) = Still having Cinavia Playback issues. mad.gif

I guess MPC-HC + AnyDVD HD for me.

So MPC-HC plays blurays if you have anydvd HD installed? Maybe I should have bought AnyDVD HD instead of paying for TMT... that is how ridiculous this whole thing has gotten.

Check the settings in AnyDVD HD and verify you checked the box to prevent detection of Cinavia. By default, it is NOT checked and therefor does not work until you check the box. It is the last checkbox on the list.

The last check box is for CSS Mastering Errors and you were right it was unchecked.

I checked it and restarted the machine and replayed Amazing Spiderman on TMT6 and it still does not work !!! mad.gif

sxotty:
Yes, if you have AnyDVD HD running in the background you can play the BDMV folder (main movie) using MPC-HC. But some movies have the director's commentary track with secondary video and it tricks MPC-HC. You can still play the main movie by going to the PLAYLIST folder and selecting either the largest/second or third largest file.

As I have noted before, even to play legitimate store bought/Netflix rented BD consistently on your fully HDCP compliant hardware with legal TMT5/6/WinDVD you still need to use the quasi-legal AnyDVD HD in the background.

On AnyDVD HD, in the Program Settings menu, there is an option to "Prevent player software from detecting Cinavia".
OOPS! Sorry, I meant to say it is in the Program Settings menu...kegobeer has the right of it. Personally, I think it should be checked by default.

TMT5 + AnyDVD HD (with Prevent player software from detecting Cinavia enabled) = Works Flawlessly !!
TMT6 + AnyDVD HD (with Prevent player software from detecting Cinavia enabled) = Works Flawlessly too !!

There is a BD god after all.
