what about 1080p upscaling our content not in the display, not in the AVR but in digital media players (just before outputting the content via HDMO to the AVR and/or display?
world's leading digital media player chipset manufacturers like realtek (chips: 1283, 1185, 1186) and sigma designs (chips: 8640, 8650, 8670 series) implement upscaling levels upto 1080p. is it only software algorithms they use? and is it comparable (of course only to a certain extent) to what the video processor like faroudja, abt, hqv do?
do you have any tehcnical details about the video upscaling features of the above chipsets and should we "not upscale" the content in the media player and leave it as it is before outputi in order to make the AVR or the display do the upscale?
