I and many others are having the same problem with the Ceton USB tuner. The problem is not on your pc.
The usb disconnect/reconnecting, tuners unavailable, tuner crashes, and failed 'partial' recordings are all problems that are plagueing many USB tuner owners.
I've had an open ticket with Ceton support for a month. I and many others have sent in diagnostic logs and everyone seems to get a similar response from Ceton:
Based on your latest diagnostics, we were able to confirm that this issue appears to be the same as an issue that we have reproduced in our lab, and are working on resolving. We expect to have a resolution for this issue soon.
We would encourage you to keep the InfiniTV; in the unlikely even that we are unable to resolve the problem to your satisfaction, we will refund your money directly if you are outside of your return period.
I was hoping to maybe return my DVR to the cable company, however, the Ceton unit is too unstable. Especially with 30-40% of my recordings failing with the dreaded 'Partial Recording' error. I'm not sure when and if I'll give up on this and ask for a refund from Ceton.
