So today I decoupled the rest of the spray foam from teh 2x4s. This process was slowed down by me apparently cutting a wire that powered the lights in the other room... I also had to move the smoke detector out of the theater and into the other room by the stairs. I learned today that my door bell gets its power from my smoke detector.
I completed the last of the demo by removing all of the old r13 insulation. I also took the last of the old duct work out. I still need to make a plate to cover the hole that went to a floor vent above.
I put up most of my ceiling clips today. I bought a collated screw gun for the theater project which makes life so much easier. For those that dont know its basically like a nail gun for screws but its battery powered. And check out this picture, my ceiling clips fit perfectly on the tip so I can just press them up and screw goes right in! Made this process much faster. I did about half the clips.
Tomorrow is my beer club meeting so no work tomorrow. Wednesday I finish the clips, put up the new ceiling insulation, seal the hole where the vent was, and put up the channels. Im going to order 3/4 OSB from a lumber yard (unless I can find another with 5/8th, they dont carry it) and 5/8th drywall. I need to put up the ceiling and get one wall complete with both layers so the hvac mini split can be installed. Its great motivation to get things up quick. I cant wait to get the walls up and make it look like a room!! a room with no power or lights...but a room none the less
