Amazon has the Scorpions latest tour in 3d scheduled for release in February. I have several concerts on DVD and blu-ray. It will be interesting to see how they will utilize the format for a concert.

Concerts look good in 3D. Most of the time they have several cameras and the scenes change often from audience shots to the performers. It is like beeing there.

Which ones have you seen, at home?

I thought this was a 3D nature documentary.

Wow. I haven't seen any 3D concerts (at home or in the theater) yet. But the Scorpions is one I might consider...

Anything without the rapidfire MTV editing style!

I'd buy it, I bet its good. I have the Nine Inch Nails Live Beside You in Time on bluray and that would be dang good in 3D.

I love NIN and also have BYIT on BD. The video is much better than And All That Could Have Been, but I still love the audio on AATCHB.

This is going to be a blind buy for me. Concert videos are my favorite thing to watch. I was at one of the shows on this tour. The set list was a little disappointing but other than that it was very good. I hope 3d gets enough suppport to last and doesnt go the way of sacd etc.

Very funny intended or not!

I saw the Scorpions during Operation Rock and Roll in about 1990. They are very good in concert. As for 3D concerts, I saw U2 in 3D at the theater and it was phenominal!!!

Picked this up at best buy today. Wow, vert impressive. They always put on a great show and this was no exception. The 3d just adds to the experience. If you are even a mild scorpions fan, pick this up.

I just pre-ordered the Scorps 3D, love the Scorpions. I'm sure the tunes will rock just hope the 3D is good.

I had it prordered but cancelled when I found out bb has it for a few bucks less. Haven't watched it all the way through but the 3d is well done, the drummers bass drums are very deep. Even has a few pop outs.

One of my favorite 80s rock bands...also picked it up today at Best Buy. I really enjoyed watching it...but dang I feel old just seeing them! Too bad "No One Like You" is not on there, one of their best songs IMO

Ns there. I was reading the set list and was bummed. Heck - No One Like You is my ringtone.

The 3d was wll done IMO and definitely worth the $19.99 price tag.

But winds of change is!? They have a regular dvd from wacken. The set list is WAAAY better and Uli John and Michael come out for a few tunes. Goes way back to their early stuff.

Which Foo Fighters concert is available in 3D. I searched Amazon and couldn't find one. PG-New Blood does look good in 3D, excellent sound too.

Love this & Joe Satriani's Satchurated! While the 3D is much better on Scorpions, I still enjoy the effort on Satchurated, but get these just for the sound, man! Rock on!

OK, so somewhat dormant thread, my apologies, but I finally got around to watching my copy of this a few days ago. Very nicely done, 3D was well balanced, with a few pop-outs when the band members would point stuff at the camera, etc, all in good fun. And when the cameras would get in close to a guitarist and walk around them while doing the guitar-hero pose or whatever. Also the 3D camera pointed at the drum kit - I could have used more of those shots. The 3D point of view from the audience was especially well done, IMHO, at least for my middle-row seating position: there were quite a few times when someone in my front row would raise their arms or something and I would move my head to see around them...except there was no-one sitting in my front row. eek.gif

And the songs were well played too - even in 2D this would have been a good BD to get.

Watched on a 54" tall screen, so about 96" wide, from about 12' away.

As stated, IMHO, YMMV,
