Yamaha RX-V565 HELP me to set up a headset

Hello there everyone. Im new here and found it necessary to ask you for some help. I have a Sony PS3 hooked to the HDMI 2 port on my rx-v565. I would like to hook up a wireless headset so I can listen to the ps3 through the headset. I had someone hook the headset up to my DVD player (before I had the ps3) and it worked well. I am told that the Rx-v565 is digital and the headset is analog and I have to change a setting in the RX in the HDMI 2 port. I have tried for hours with no success. Can any one walk me through how to make it work?

Welcome to the Forum, Dark Shadow!

If you had the wireless headset connected to a DVD player directly, and you assume it’s analog (a logical assumption), then the problem is that you have only a digital connection – HDMI – between the Yamaha and the PS3. You’ll have to add analog connections between the two (i.e. the red/white RCA connections). If you do that, you can then connect the headset to a the Yamaha’s “AV Out” jacks and you should be in business.

Thanks for the reply! The rca connections to the charging port of the headset are connected directly to the RX. At this point, a setting has to be adjusted in the RX but I have no idea what.

So you have both HDMI and RCAs from the PS3 connected to the Yamaha?

Run the headphones out of the headphone jack
