Starting point: 80lb solid core door from Lynden Doors:

A shame to cover a nice birch finish but sound isolation comes first smile.gif

Add 3/4" MDF layer:

Borrow my neighbor's drill press:

Drill door latch hole into spruce:

Rather than drilling the usual large hole for handle mechanism I went with this:

Cutout ready:

Glued and screwed into place along with 3/4" MDF edging which will support fabric track:

The flipside:

Door now weighs 130lbs and adds some damping. Next is to cut down the key stock I bought to address the door thickness.

^^^^^. Haha that's funny....... On second thought. I haven't seen mine in months, and I have a sudden sinking feeling about that load of cardboard boxes I tossed a while back wink.gif
