Sub question: Mono-D or what?

I have a Kenwood Mono-D amp and two Infinity 12" 1262w subs. Should I be using this type of amp for those and how should I set these up?

Which exact model amp? Kenwood makes a few different models which have different minimal ohm loads.

Those are dual 4 ohms subs which can wired to either a 2 ohm or 8 ohm load. From there you can wire them together (mono) into a 4 ohm load, or leave them separate (stereo) which may or may not be optimal for that amp.

I have the 9105D or something skmiliar Haha sorry but its the 1800w max 500 at 4 ohms and 900 at 2. It says its mono d but it has two outputs that I have plugged into my two 12 kenwoods. These are 4 OHM subs so am I wired at 4 or 2 amps? I have the wires going straight one positive and one negative from each output going to one sub no cables mixed between.

its a mono (single channel) amplifier. They install 2 sets of outputs to make wiring multiple drivers easier.

As for your wiring configuration, Two 4 ohm subs wired parallel yields a 2 ohm DCR load.

Initially had at at 4 ohms, switched it to 2 and wow it makes a big difference. Kicks so hard at 2 ohms.

Same subs?

If so, you can wire them 2 ways

Series (end result of two four ohm speakers is 8 ohms)

parallel (2 four ohm drivers is 2 ohms)

So potentially a 6db gain. yes it will be noticeable!

Not sure how you would wire them for a four ohm load

Yes. Well It has two outputs so I was thinking I initially had it wired at 4 ohms since both subs are 4 and they were running straight to the amp with the wires between them.now they are parallel
