Sony E50A10 Owners - Help Needed!!

I downloaded a service manual from servicemanuals.net and it helped me quite a lot.At least for my TV (Sony KDSR70XBR2)it showed colored pictures in fairly good detail.It did not however show anything inside the optical block,which you had yours rebuilt anyway.

The installation of the LE in the chassis, and the connections to the rest of the chassis is covered in the SM moderately well. There are no two connectors that I can recall that can be mismated, because they have different numbers of pins, different designs or colors.

On some of the Sonys, the two tiny connectors at the end of the bundled tiny blue wires seem reversible, but one of them is marked with red electrical tape and plugs into the connector beside which is stamped an 'R', or something like that.

Some of the LE mounting screws may be buried deep inside the LE, and require a flashlight to find, and a very long Philips screwdriver to reach.

If what you need is documentation to show how to reassemble the guts of the light engine itself, that doesn't exist because Sony (and all the other manufacturers) didn't want service people taking it apart, and they didn't sell parts for the inside of the LE anyway. I can't tell you 'how to put it back together' but I can answer specific questions.

If you get stuck on a particular connector, what I have done a few times is follow the wire to the board it comes from, and record the connector number, for example J210. Then do an SM search of 'J210', and because the characters in the schematics are searchable, you can find every occurrence of J210 in the schematics, and eventually find where to plug it in.
